On most Discovery's the fuel rail will have a schrader type valve (usually on the right side of rail -US pass side). let the car sit a while before you do this and have some rags to collect any fuel that shoots out. (wear protective eyewear, and dont stand directly in line wiht this as it can shoot a distance). press the valve (like a tire valve) slowly, and fuel will squirt out until the pressure is equalized. in some cases, wiht weaker pressure regulators, you may not get much out at all. thx

My Pontiac Sunbird 96 ran out of fuel. I need to know how to bleed the system of air. Where is the bleeding line??

you shouldn't need to bleed the air out-if you filled back up with fuel and its not starting you probably have a bad fuel pump-sorry- to bleed the fuel line look where the fuel line connects to the fuel injector rail-on the rail there should be a thing that looks like a tire inflator valve-turn the key on and push in the center of the valve and fuel should come out of it -if not then for sure pump isn't working- cheers Denny

Where can i bleed the fuel system under the hood

This is the simplest way to bleed your fuel system short of trying to explain to you where to find an actual bleed port. Loosen any fuel line under the hood until a constant flow of fuel is coming out then tighten the line. Of course ensure you properly prepare the area for the free flowing fuel prior to opening the line.

2000 EXCURSION has been sitting for two years out fuel and it wont start

more than likely there's condensation and air built up in the system , youll need to crack the fuel lines open and bleed the system, just as if you were bleeding brakes, air in the fuel lines is a very common problem on diesels

1999 landrover range rover 2.5 diesel put petrol

I would start by looking for the valve on the fuel rail (or at the filter housing), if you disconnected the fuel pipe from the filter feed you will have a lot of air in the system (and diesels do not like air in the feul system) you will need to have someone crank the motor over while you push in on the schrader valve to release the air out of the system until you get fuel to flow steady out of that port (this may take a short period of time), then you should be able to start the vehicle... would also recommend replacing the fuel filter as well. Hope this helps.
