Question about 1999 Land Rover Discovery
I have bought a 99 land rover discovery and it has started overheating, new water pump, radiator good, thermostat good, did leakage test with air it did not leak. fans do not always come on? it has blown the release valve on radiator and then cracked the plastic holding tank for radiator. cant figure out where the pressure is coming from. why it only does it on occasion. once while on interstate, the next time just sitting idling.
Make (other): discovery
Engine: v8 automatic
New waterpump, clean radiator, thermostat, leakage test air. (no Leakage) the temp will go up with air conditioner or just turn on the assecc.
From practical experiences of heavy trucks, this problem is created by poor coolant flow thro' the Radiator Core. Flush cleaning the Rad. or decontaminating the exterior air flowways will not cure the problem. My recommendation is a Recore or after market replacement.
