Question about Pontiac Firebird

1 Answer

I have a 1994 firebird with a 3.4L automatic. It started today locking up when i get up to 10 m.p.h.. The fluid was foamy, and stinky. when it cooled, the fluid level was fine. pulled the pan, and the filter wasnt broke, or fallen. it did have lots of metal flakes, and a couple of pea size flakes. What do you think the problem is ?

Your transmission has many issues and needs to be rebuilt. The clutches are worn beyond use. Best to swap with a good used one - or pay for a rebuilt one to be installed. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you do want the truth I am sure. Please vote me as helpful as it really makes a difference in my life and makes you my hero.
Best of luck. I have a 1994 firebird - 260493f.jpg

Air in power steering how to get it out

Did you replace any parts?. any way fill reservoir instal cap, start engine and turn steering whell from lock to lock, left and rigth until it stops, do it couple off times then recheck reservoir refill and repeat this until it does not need to add any more fluid, then let car idle until fluid is clear of air,(foamy) fill reservoir to max line by now noise must be gone.
Good luck

I have a 2002 dodge neon with automatic transmission. it just starting leaking and the fluid is coming out very foamy I took it to a shop and they couldnt find a leak but they only ran it for about 20 min...

Check around trans fill tube where dip stick goes in and check for oil, if there is there could be a internal pressure leak in tranny after car is driven awhile Good luck

No start on 3.4 engine

If your car has spark and runs on starting fluid you have a fuel problem not a cam sensor. 41 lbs of fuel pressure is not enough. Try pinching off the return fuel line and check the pressure. Let me know what you find.
