Thank you, and yes, I can certainly get the info off the tires themselves. BUT I've been told several times that the issue is that the number given on the tire is a generalization (since the tires don't know what model car they will be put onto), whereas the car manufacturer would have made a definite recommendation regarding tire pressure for THAT SPECIFIC CAR MODEL for best mileage/handling given the car's weight, etc.

Therefore the actual number given ON the car door sticker would be preferable to use for tire pressure. And it's that actual number that I am lacking - and seeking.

This varies depending upon the specific tire sizes. Usually you can find this info molded right on the tire itself. You just have to be able to read the tiny print. Check this out and reply back if you need more help.

Hope this helps.

What is the correct air pressure for the tyres

Look on the side of the tire, there are lots of numbers, one of them will be the max tire pressure in psi or kPa. For the correct tire pressure for your car, there should be a sticker on the drivers side door jamb. If the sticker is missing, put 5 psi LESS than max number you found on the sidewall of the tire.

Recommended tyre pressures

If that is the right size tire for your car, the tire pressures are on a sticker on the edge of the drivers door or on the drivers door post where the door covers when it's closed or on a sticker on the bottom of the inside of the glovebox. ALL cars have the tire pressures on a sticker in one of those 3 places.

There should be a sticker inside the drivers door that will tell you the correct tire pressure for your vehicle, if not then a good rule of thumb is to read the max pressure rating on the sidewall of the tire and decrease it by 4-6 psi.

What is the proper tire pressure for my '94 Olds LSS with Goodyear P225/60 R 16 tires

The max infaltion will be stamped on the tire itself, I would inflate to manufaturer spec., which will be on the drivers door or door frame on a little sticker. If it is not then it may be in the owners manual. If it can't be found in those places then go by whats on the tire (which will prob. be max 44 psi).
