Question about 2002 Toyota Tundra
Every 60000 miles do a complete flush and this means the torque converter also..but before you service it, go to Autozone and purchase a can of "Sea Foam Trans Tune" and pour no more than 1/2 into fill tube and don't over fill it, if your actually low on fluid, this would be great just pour all off it in then, if your full and want room to pour the whole can in, go to the place where you're going to have it serviced, and ask them to **** out a "pint" only, and tell them you'll be back in 15 minutes and drive it around selecting all the different speeds after accelerating get it good and warmed up, then go back and tell them you want a full flush...its not cheap but you"ll probably only have to do it twice in the transmission life transmission dont last that long..now this part is tricky though you have to watch these people because, they might not give you a flush... if they dont roll up this big fancy machine and take off your radiator tranmission cooling line, then they're not giving you a flush but they'll probably charge you for one and just perform a regular filter and oil change.i went through two transmission on my car the first one lasted 200k before it was shot and i performed two full flushes on this transmission over the years. so i put in another one and got lax about servicing it, because the flushes i did in the past just made me think that this other transmission would last the life of the car, but after 70k, i lost second gear and it just goes from first to third, but hey it still works today, and i have 297000miles on it. I think one of the little check balls is just gummed up and stuck in there. Hope you found this useful can you rate it, Thanks.
