Motor overheated after 10 miles ,still has oil

Motor overheated after 10 miles ,still has oil and antifreeze,motor would not turn over until rolled backwards when I tried to start it it clunked and 2 peices of the starter casting ( I think ) fell out and oil started running out what happened and how do I fix it

You'll have to pull the oil pan to know for sure but i think you broke a connecting rod

Oil pressure drops and truck shuts off

I have to ask if you are sure the oil pressure drops first, or the engine stops first. The engine would stop if the oil pressure dropped below 5psi but only because the fuel pump would shut off. And it should start back up if that were the reason.
If something such as a relay or the ignition module is getting hot and killing the engine, it might have to cool down before it restarts. And the engine would stop then the oil pressure would drop to zero.

I over heated my engine and it will not crank

cylinders are full of coolant...Hydrolocked, time for intake and plenium gaskets and prob. lower intkes while you are at it. Dorman makes a nice replacement set the intake plenium with gaskets needed to install, make sure you replace the actual plenium., first I would pull all spark plugs and roll enjine over with plugs out to be sure that is problem 99% sure it is....pretty common in 3800's check your oil for antifreeze , if it rolls over and you decide to fix top end, CHANGE YOUR ENGINE OIL AND FILTER too cause antifreeze and engine BEARINGS don't Mix well shortens life of them.

Motor over heating,,,its moving and never us to do that. got an oil change and they use 5 w 30. ? is when do you use 10 w 30 and 5 w 30?

most of time no matter of w??
tray to clean radiator might be block or check the cap of radiator if every thing ok check the radiator water ist creamy or normal coolent/

You most likely have a broken heater hose I would not drive the car because you will possibly warp the head or crack the block. I would suggest that you have a mechanic shop take a look at it. It is dangerous for you to can blow the motor up

My chevy s10's radiator blew I replaced it... Drove about 8 miles home. Truck sat overnight. Drove about 10 miles the next day and it wouldn't start back up. The dealership says it's either a blow head...

the head could be cracked also. check the oil if its milky then its the head gasket or head probably. if no then when its running is there alot white smoke that also could be a cracked head or head gasket.the first is antifreeze leeking into the oil system usually cracked head. the second is antifreeze leeeking into the cylinder
so no external leek

something is strange here thats for sure ,firstly take thermostat out and put it in a saucepan of water and boil it to see if opens .,check the oil light switch and pull the rubber boot cover back to see if any oil is behind it ??.-You are buying trouble with a car with such a high mileage on it ,never buy anything with more than 50,000 miles or you are just buying someones rubbish

The engine oil light illuminates after making a sharp turn or after coming down from highway speeds to slower speeds

Sounds like you've got sludge. The best way to deal with it is to change the oil. Flushing with an oil cleaner is dangerouse but faster. The cause of this isrunning too long without an oil change, engine overheating, and antifreeze leaking into the oil. Lots of really short trips where the oil doesn't reach full operating temperture. Change the oil with a good cheap oil including the filter. Run the car for about a week 200 miles and change the oil again, filter and all. do this again untill when you go to change the oil it's not exactly black solid like the first time you changfed it. Another cause of sludging is the car does'nt warm up fast enough and not hitting the full operating temperture, it could need a new themostat. Overheating can cause problems too. Is the cheak engine light on? If it is you need to research the problems and get them repaired because everyuthing effects everything else.

How frequently should the oil be changed

if you use regular motor oil it should be changed every 3000 miles or 3 months
if you use semi synthetic every 5000 miles

Antifreeze in oil

best thing run with some engine flush in the oil then change oil and filtr and reapeat again in 50 - 100 miles.everything shuold be ok
