I would check for a main ground to the block to see if it's tore off

Where is location of shift solenoid a located on 05 cobalt?

The shift solenoid valves are two identical, electronic exhaust valves that control upshifts and downshifts in all forward gear ranges. These valves are normally open. These shift solenoid valves work together in a combination of ON and OFF sequences in order to control the positions of the 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 shift valve trains. The TCM monitors numerous inputs to determine the appropriate solenoid state combination and transmission gear for the vehicle operating conditions.
Remove the transmission side cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement . Remove the 1-2 shift solenoid retainer clip (304), the 1-2 shift solenoid (305) with O-ring (303), the 1-2 shift valve (302), and the 1-2 shift valve spring (301).
Remove the PNP switch. Refer to Park/Neutral Position Switch Replacement . Remove the transmission upper side cover bolts. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture in Engine Mechanical. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information. Remove the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels. Remove the left inner fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End. Remove the wheel drive shaft from the transmission. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement in Wheel Drive Shafts. Remove the power steering gear mounting bolts. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement in Power Steering. Remove the frame. Refer to Frame Replacement in Frame and Underbody.
This is a tough repair an needs special tools to do it . your best bet is take it to AAMCO

Damaged plastic liner of wheel well rubs on tire when driving over bumps

Even if you popped the dent out, the liner may not fit back on tightly. They are usually held by plastic clips or plastic pins or even plastic screws that easily get distorted, or the hole they are held with gets enlarged from tearing. You could keep the liner up with a couple of machine screws drilled into strategic places....or, you could just remove the liner-it's not a safety issue-it just helps keep mud and dirt from building up in the wheel wells and fender corners. To remove it, first take the wheel off. Then you can see how it is held on Pull it off and throw it away.
If you pop the dent out and fender looks pretty good, and the liner appears it can be re-used with just a little help, all the better.

How to replace front fender liner. I need instructions

The bumper shouldn't be in the way. Usually the liner is attached only inside the wheel well. You may have to pull the tire off to make it easier. Plastic clips or pins usually hold the liner in place, or it may have screws. Go by the opposite side, if any part of your old liner is missing attachers or pieces.

I have a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer. While driving STRAIGHT, not turning...there is a horrible grinding/rubbing sound coming from the driver side front tire. I had the wheel bearing replaced on the...

If its not the bearing and your Mercury is front wheel drive, it could be the "CV" joints.
It could be both....

Is the wheel rubbing the brake caliper?

Is something like the wheel well liner rubbing the tire(airflow pushing it into tire)?

Jack the tire off the ground and rotate it by hand. Push in & out at the top, sides, and bottom of the tire. Little or no play is considered acceptable. If you get a "clunking" sound and/or a lot of play the bearing(s) are bad. (If front wheel drive, chock rear tires, put transmission in neutral so you can rotate tire.)

How do you replace the front amber running light in a 2008 GMC Acadia

Turn off engine and open the hood
Remove the front wheelhouse liner. Whichever side, say we begin with the front left(drivers). If you dont wish to remove the front left tire, just turn the wheels far to the right to gain enough clearance. And you dont need to remove the whole liner and all the screws and retainers. . Just remove only those nearest the headlight and front bumper area in order to loosen the front half portion of the wheelhouse liner. Just enough for your arms to reach inside.
At this point, try to reach in for the rear of the running lamp. Work your hands inside to remove the lamp from its socket. Note the position before turning and pulling it out.

Note: If you still need more clearance for better access, you can (1) remove the tire. or (2) remove the 3 screws that secure the bumper to the body, and then pull outwards to loosen.Try to reach in again.
Just need some patience, though. goodluck. okay? : )

How do I take out the transmission?

you will need a car lift, and a transmition jack, 1st with car off the ground, take off front tires, drop swaybar, remove a frame from stut tower, unbold big nut on spline, 32 or 36 mm pull out c/v shaft, do both sides, bring car down, unplug cables and wires from transmition, unbolt from motor top half, disconect batery, hot side, raise car back up in air, remove starter, remove inspection plate, unbolt tork converter from flt wheel, 20 0r 18 mm socket and 1 /2 inch drive breaker bar to turn over motor to get to bolts, connect jack to transmition, remove rest of bolts lower half, remove crossmember, wiggle transmition with pry bar, lower jack..... it should take you about 4-6 hours if you never done one, if you have air tools, you can nock off 2 hours easy..

My honda has been shredding my tires on the front axle. I thought it was a alignment i needed, but now its making a horrible noise on the left front side of my car, and it feels like the tire wants to fall...

You may have an issue with a ball joint or "A" arm bushing - I recommend you stop driving it and have it towed to your local auto shop for a hands on diagnostic. If the ball joint breaks you could possibly lose your entire wheel assembly while moving- this happened to my wife's van 2 months ago and was an expensive fix. If a bushing goes on the "A" arm then your wheel will lean and that will shred the tire too and may ruin the arm requiring replacement. Either way you would be safer to get it towed right away!!

Where is the battery located on a 1997 plymouth breeze?

Drivers side fender well. Jack up the car and remove the front tire. There's a section of the fender liner with a big picture of a battery on it. You can remove that part of the fender liner via some thumb twist screws and get to the battery.

Its easier if you remove the left front tire. In front of the wheel well, you will see a plastic cover held in place with several clips that can be removed by turning the clips 1/4 turn to left. pull the plastic cover off and you will see the battery. Use 1/2 in. socket to remove hold down, and 5/16 socket to remove cables. Total time Approx. 15 minutes.

The low pressure port is behind the passenger fender liner. Remove the right front tire so you can remove the liner.

Detach the wheel arch trim panel on the passenger's side (driver's side shown).
  • Remove six bolts.
  • Remove the trim panel.
