Sounds like the cold has damaged the chips in the computer ? which the extreme cold will do ? it will damage electrical circuits with microprocessors in them
The alternator overcharging could cause any number of faults like burn out components ans systems one by one, the worst being that the battery could literally explode! Get that alternator fixed before you do any more trouble shooting. THIS IS IMPORTANT!
Start with checking the sensors on each wheel. These will be the electrical wires that come from behind each wheel. Also check that the tire pressure in each tire is the same. Next, check your brake fluid level.
