You may have to use a electric,or air impact to do this,or hold the flywheel, and break it loose with a long pull bar with a cheater pipe over the handle. The bolt will turn counter clock wise to remove.

Taurus crankshaft pulley

Yes you need a 'Harmonic Balance Puller' If you mean the centre bolt that holds the harmonic balancer to the crank. No not reveresed. Can be removed by placing a socket on bolt head and using a long handle placed against chassis. Touch the starter key to loosen.

Need to replace the harmonic balancer in a 1994 isuzu rodeo. ( rwd, 3.2 ltr v.6 ). no success so far. is the main bolt reverse threaded? so far i have been attempting to turn it toward the passenger side,...

No, the bolt is not left handed. You do need to turn it counter-clockwise to loosen it. You're probably just spinning the engine when trying to loosen it. I use a 6" c-clamp and attach it behind the balancer in a way that the threaded shaft can lodge up against something so the engine can't turn. Then I use a 3 lb rubber mallet and hit the 1/2" drive rachet on the handle, or put a breaker bar on the end of it and work it loose that way. Once you get the bolt off, you will need to use a pulley puller to get the balancer off.

Cannot remove timing cover on 1989 isuzu pickup. stopped by crank bolt

A trick would be to put a breaker bar on the bolt and against the passenger frame and use the starter to break the bolt loose. You just "bump" the starter and use it get the bolt loose. If its a manual trans, when tighteneing the bolt, put it in 4th gear and lock the parking brake, and torque the bolt to 90lbs.
