It could be a faulty ignition switch. Ok, Lets do a little troubleshooting. Do the lights on the dash come on when you turn the key to the on position ? Do they turn off when you turn the car to the start and are about to crank the engine ? If that does not happen you will have to replace the Ignition switch. They don't have a fuse for the dash lights.

could be the spring release in the lever on the trunk itself. If you can hear the acuator locking/unlocking(that is all it's ment to do) then the spring release is the problem. you need to unbolt the latch from inside the trunk and once the trunk is open you can trace from there. I had the same problem due to a minor fender bender and I just fixed mine last week.

get a portable jump starter.it really a portable battery with cables and attachments.if you have a cigarette lighter.remove lighter.plug the cable into the cigarette lighter.it should give you power to open trunk.

you're right, and yes you can. Now the option is dealer($130+) or Napa( around $100), either way it's pricey, but fixes the problem.
