When you say it doesnt start what do you mean? does the engine crank over but wont start, or is it that when you turn the key nothing happens,i will assume it does nothing when the key is turned just due to the fact you replaced the battery, the next step is to check for power at the starter, have someone turn the key to start and hold it there while you check for power at the small connection at the starter, the starter has two connections, one has power at all times and the other a small connection gets power when the key is in the crank (start) position, if theres power at the starter then you have a bad starter, if theres no power then you may have a bad key chip or a bad neutral safty swith, now if the truck is spinning over but not starting then the first common thing i would check is for fuel preasure at the injector rail, good luck hope this helps.

I have a factory installed alarm on my 2003 jeep cherokee ,how do i disable alarm

Hello! The drivers side door lock/unlock switch is more than likely defective...Having said that, the alarm system on Jeeps are a constant problem...To disable the system requires removing the drivers door panel and cutting the Light Green/Orange wire at the switch...And installing a 465 Ohm resistor...Not something done without the necessary skills...
I would have the vehicle towed to a Jeep dealer and have them test the drivers door switch and disable the alarm....Guru...saailer

I try to start my 1988 Jeep YJ (maunal trans) and I just hear a "click, click" sound. Jump started it and it was running, but I stalled it and the same thing, she wouldn't turn over...just heard the click...

First thing to check is the battery on jeep. If the battery is low on power or dead, charge the battery or replace it with a new battery. It sounds like you are not getting enough voltage to the starter to turn it over and start the jeep. Once you get the jeep started use a volt meter to check the voltage at the battery. The alternator should be putting out 14 to 15 volts to the battery. Check the battery cables at the battery, clean and tighten if need be. If the alternator is not putting out the voltage as i described then replace it. Make sure the radio and a/c is turned off in jeep before you run your test. Hope this will help.

Transmission over temp signal vehicle won't

First I was told it was a battery... replaced it Then two months later I was told it was a starter.... replaced Another two months later I was told it was the ignition switch... replaced it yesterday...
Just walked out of a restaurant 24 hours later and the car does not want to start. The dealership seems to be inept at figuring it out, and Jeep helpline doesn't offer any help at all.

Cranks but wont start

You need to check and see if the plugs are getting voltage/spark. If they are not then check and see that the coil is getting voltage. It sounds like you possibly have a bad coil. Something is causing your plugs to not fire.

Removed bumper on 2001 JEEP Cherokee

Disconnect both battery cables and touch them together to discharge the system. Then replace the bumper and airbag wire. You can then replace the battery cables and start the car. This will let the computer reset the airbag

My '89 Jeep Wagoneer won't start. It has a 6month

sounds like the starter actually have some one load test it for you, might be drawing more power then it need, hence the need for a jump

Car squeels when is started

Kinda Sounds more like an alternator problem. I would take your Cherokee to Autozone (or anywhere that will check your battery for free) and make sure that its a battery problem. Also you may want to look at your alternator as well (which if you take into autozone they will check for free as well). Maybe belt is slipping around your alternator drive which in turn is not charging your battery. I would try out the free stuff and go from there. :)

Sincerely,

JC

I had a similar problem with my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It turned out that the battery posts and cables were corroded. I cleaned them up and it solved the problem immediately. Something to check on before you spend the money on a new battery anyway!
