Nissan z24 engine just did head gasket replaced timing chain and guides started on oil pressure pulled off new oil filter no oil primed pump on bench before installing can you help

os there something in the repair manual
about the Z24 oil pump cam being in alignment

Remove the distributor by removing the two mounting bolts to the timing cover. This will keep your ignition timing intact. Fit the oil pump and drive spindle together and install so that when you look down on top of them the spindle is aligned like below.

I need to know how to set the timing marks on the distributor for a 85 z24

I'm showing the first Cavalier Z24 being sold in 1988 with a 2.8 engine.
I'm not sure what you mean by marks, normally you would like up the marks on the crank pulley and turn the distributor to the point where the rotor is pointing to the number one cylinder plug wire.
If the distributor has been out of the engine, you will be on or 180 degrees off.
Once you get the engine started, you would use a timing light to set base timing.

How do I adjust the rocker arm bolts for the valve lash on a 1985 Nissan 720 pick up Z24 engine

Guys he has a Z24, Not KA24, Z24 for one, Is carbed and has older lifters and valves. They need to be tuned to spec within a certain specific limit and the cams must be rotated in certain positions when doing different valves, etc... Shouldnt take very long normally and its not a hard process but if you have a tick, you really should get it checked out. Btw, the Z24 engine's idle isnt controlled by ecu at all or else the carb wouldnt need an idle adjustment screw.

I have a 84 nissan z24 ,problem I am having it stalls when attempting to start the engine sounds like it is really heavy for the starter to turn the flywheel. Once i get it started from 1st to second it...

How about the coils? Also check the distributor cap as it has 1 carbon pin that is off center and can pop out causing damage and a non firing condition. You say its a nissan z24, I suspect you mean the engine is the Z engine because I am pretty sure chevy made the Z24 vehicle and datsun/nissan made the 240, 260, and 280Z's.
