Driverside door wont lock or open from the inside mkz 2008 lincoln

I hope it's not an electric control handle----but it sounds like a rod or lever inside the door has disconnected----plastic clip holds rod in mechanisms and/or levers that operate the door---you'll have to remove the inside door panel to check this out or take it to a body shop---they may have experience this problem before---also some debris may have jammed mechanism----another thought is the mechanism may have rusted/froze therefore unable to function--GL

My 2001 dodge dakota passenger side front door will not open from the inside.

If it opens from outside the mechanism came apart for the inside release. Need to get inside the door to determine what problem is. Remove inner door panel. Look inside door for a loose rod possible a broken clip

Most likely an actuation rod has become unhooked inside the door. If possible to get a slim jim tool to unlatch door, then remove inner panel to find problem.

2004 GOLF 1 CAR GETS EXTREMELY HOT INSIDE WITHOUT THE HEATER EVEN BEING TURNED ON AND SWITCH IS ON COLD AIR STILL BLOWS OUT HOT AIR

There is a component called a blend door under the dash - this door controls the amount of heat coming from the heater core or a/c system, and is possibly malfunctioning, or the controls for it are malfunctioning. This is a labor intensive fix. Getting an exploded view of the blend door controls and actuator is necessary - you can probably get one from the Dealer or a shop emailed to you.
Regardless, a portion or possibly all of the under dash panels will need to be removed to have access to the problem area, as well as other components mounted there. This is not typically a job for a backyard mechanic, due to the complexity and sensitivity of the related components.
Hope this helps!!

Open door manually

can it open from the outside? There is a child safety lock inside the door when open it could have been put on child proof not allowing a young child to open the door from the inside but it will still open from outside. if this is not the problem then your rod has disconnected from the latch mechanism inside the door, you may need a slim jim tool or try to remove door panel from inside, this will be difficult when door is shut but maybe possible depending on the door panel itself, they may have some screws but most just snap in.

Passenger door will not open

I can think of two possibilities:

1) The electronic lock is malfunctioning and forcing the door to lock. From the inside of the car, try forcing the lock to the 'unlocked' position. If you can do this with your had, but it 'snaps' back to 'locked' then it's an electrical problem. Possibly the lock solenoid itself, or the BCM.

2) If you cannot force the lock to the 'unlocked' position, then it's some sort of mechanical problem - maybe the lock is just jammed. Try spraying oil into the locking mechanism from the outside and working the lock until it's free. Otherwise, remove the interior door panel and diagnose the mechanical lock.

Electrical mechanism will not unlock front passenger door nor can it be unlocked manually at door handle. Inside door handle will not move so door cannot be opened. Consequently, cannot remove inner door...

possibly your linkage from the electric solenoid and door lock to the locking mechanism has either fallen apart inside the door or also possibly it has gotten "over-center" and cannot operate properly from either the automatic electric or manually from the key, can you hear and click from the solenoid when you operate this electrically? and see lock button move a little, this would be a sign it's over-center.

Sounds like the door latch mechanism is worn out.

The door latch mechanism for your door is operated by rods, from the inside door handle, and the outside door handle.
It is highly unlikely, (Though not impossible), that all those two rods have fallen off. (Spring clips hold the rods in place. Opening Rod Control Clip. In the link below they are shown as Item E)

With the window all the way down, carefully use a long flat tip screwdriver, to push down on the lever for the door latch mechanism, to open the door. Make sure the lever for the door lock, in the door latch mechanism, is in the fully unlock position.

This link may help show you the inner door hardware, I'm referring to above,

http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette-c3-door-hardware+1968+1982-inner-1-106-9491.html

You can see that when you pull out on the inner door handle, it pulls a rod forward. This rod is attached to a Bellcrank. The Bellcrank in turn pulls down on another rod, which pulls down on a small lever in the door latch mechanism, to release the door latch.

When you push down on the outside door handle, it pushes a small rod that is attached to that same lever as the inner door handle. Looking down through the window opening in the door, it is that lever that you're trying to push down, to open the door.

Viewing down through the window opening, try to operate the outside door latch a little. Watch to see what lever it tries to move. That's the lever you have to move Down, with the flat tip screwdriver.

With the door open, it is a matter to check out,

1.The Inside Door Opening Control, (The inside door handle is attached to it), to see if the locking part of it is functioning correctly. Make sure that it goes to the full Unlocked position.

2.The Door Latch Mechanism. Make sure it is functioning correctly. It, along with the various door hardware parts inside the door, needs to be lubricated at specific intervals. The more it's used, the higher the interval rate goes up. (I find that owners seem to Skip this task a lot! I use Lubriplate White Lithium spray)

To replace the door latch mechanism, I suggest you buy a manual for your car, so you can view all of the door hardware to remove, to remove the door panel. Then view how the spring clips come off of the rods, and the three screws come out of the door latch mechanism.

This is only a possible solution to your problem. I had similar problem with my car. It turned out that the window locking toggle on the driver door not only prevented the other windows from being opened by passengers but also controlled the door locks. When I unlocked the window control I was able to unlock the door. Another possibility is the armature inside the door has come off the locking mechanism.
