Driveshafts as in tailshafts? or axels from diff? if its just the tail shaft, it just has 4 12mm nuts and bolts, one spanner will get it out make sure you dont lose the spring washers and try support it when removing to prevent damage to the centre bearing.

I think you will find it uses similar systems to the Free Lander and rear wheel drive only kicks in when one or both of the front wheels lose traction.

I am looking for the blower motor relay in a 93 Subaru legacy. I have looked under the steering wheel until all of the blood in my body is in my head. I even got ont from the Subaru dealership to make sure...

Let's see if we can make life a little easier for you:
Remove the glove box. Disconnect the blower resistor electrical connector. Remove the screws and remove the resistor assembly from the blower motor housing. Reverse procedure to install.

1997 subaru legacy with awd transmission - driveshaft has been removed due to bad u-joints and trans. locked up the front wheels. What do we need to unlock them?

I have a 93 legacy. Subaru's always run in front wheel drive until a sensor tells the computer the front wheels are not turning the same speed as the rear wheels( spining on ice or sand etc.). At that point all wheels will be driven though a clutch to the rear wheels. This is not good if the car needs to be towed with the front wheels in the air! This "all wheel drive" can be shut down for towing. Under the hood on my 93, there is an in line fuse holder on the pass. side of car behind the front strut mount. Open the top of the holder and it will be empty, put in a fuse (10 or 20 amp or close) , this completes a circuit and shuts down the rear wheels. I don't know if the your 97 has this in the same place, but it must have one some place. hope this can help you.

Tachometer on 93 subaru not working?

The most common reason for the failure of tachometer on 93 Subaru Legacy is related to the connection of ground wire. Ensure that the ground wire has not become faulty because of wear or corrosion. In case the wire is not functional, it will need to be replaced without which the tachometer circuit will not be complete.

How do you make 1992 legacy rear wheel drive

There is a fuse holder in the engine compartment. If you install a fuse in it it will make it front wheel drive but not rear wheel drive.

How do i get to the bulbs to change the tail lights in my 93 subaru legacy wagon

You begin by opening the rear-lid.
Remove the plastic panel.
Turn backward the bulb-holder.
[This will make it come off its housing]
Push-in the bulb, and turn it backward.
[it comes off]
Reverse these steps for installation.

Driveshaft is making noises

i presume that is a front wheel drive vehicle. you likely have a cv joint that is failing (constant velocitiy joint is the full name). if you raise the vehicle and turn the tire back and forth you should be able to tell which one is failing. rear wheel drives would likely need a universal joint replaced. replace both at the same time tho.

Replacing the front axle on a 93 subaru legacy

When I replace the axle halves, I run the Nut off till it is level with the shaft end. THen take a piece of wood and set it across the shaft and hit the wood with a hammer. Usually only takes one or two hits and pops right out. Then I remove the nut and finish removal . Hope this helps, Good luck and have a great day.

93 subaru legacy starting problems

Probably a short or loose connection between battery and starter motor, or on either end of cables. Id look there before swapping out starter. On cold days you might put a heater under car for a few hours before using it,do this carefully as to avoid a car fire, or look into a block heater for your engine.
