Question about 2001 Nissan Maxima
Posted by Anonymous on
I YOUR OVER 100.000 CLOSER TO 115-130.000- REPLACE TRANSMISSION. IF IT WONT GO IN REVERSE, LAGS POWER AS IF IT STARTED IN SECOND SHIFTS TO THIRD THEN BACK TO SECOND THERE IS A SOLENOID INSIDE TRANSMISSION MAY BE BAD YOU CAN INSPECT YOURSELF AND MAY AS WELL FLUSH ENTIRE TRANSMISSIN. NISSSAN OFFERS A KIT BUT NEED A TOOL TOO SO READ LABEL CAREFULLY. FLUSH SYSTEM COMPLETELY AND ONLY USE THE MATIC D FLUID ONLY AVAILABLE AT THE DEALERSHIP. ANY OTHER TYPE REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD WILL CAUSE ERRRATIC SHIFTING SHAKING VIBRATION WHEN ENGINE HAS A LOAD BUT STOPS WHEN IN N. MAKE SURE LEVEL IS CORRECT TOO. I KNOW SHES FAST BUT PROVING IT COSTS MONEY...
LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS- I HAD TO CHANGE ALL OF THE ABOVE TO FIGURE OUT THIS STEP ELIMINATES ALL THE COSTLY THINGS THE SHOPS WILL DO TO SLOW FIXIN THE PROBLEM THEN AGAIN ITS TRIAL AND ERROR
