Something is draining the battery

The battery in my 95 Honda Odyssey has recently started draining. I have charged the battery and undone it and it has held for about 4 days now. So something is draining the battery when I connect it. Where do I start testing? I have a multi-meter but am not sure where to test and what results should be. Please help.

What you do is pull off the pos cable. Touch it to the ground cable for a couple of seconds to discharge any voltage that may be lingering in the cars circuits. (Leave ground wire hooked to battery. Only the Positve should be unhooked) Now hook your meter between the Pos Cable and the Pos of the battery. It should show anywhere from between 0-2 volts. maybe more if you have a alarm system. If it shows anymore then 3-4 volts you have a parasitic draw. Best way to Isolate this is to start pulling fuses one by one until the meter jumps down to zero. Then plug other fuses back in. If meter dos not go back up. you have isolated the circuit that is draining the battery

Something is drawing down the battery on my 2005 Odyssey and the draw is coming from the under the hood fuse #15 40 amp. What does that Fuse control. When fuse is pulled engine will not start.

Fuse 15 supplies power to a whole bunch of things so it is little wonder that your Odyssey won't start with it removed. You may have to remove other fuses one at a time to find what is causing the current drain.

My 2006 honda odyssey won't start...2 days ago I replaced the battery thinking it was this issue...The van won't click over to start...the VSA and ABS light comes on faintly..could it be an alternator?

it sounds like that, if after installing the battery, it ran and started good, then this tells me it run until it drained the battery, so this tells me theres a charging problem, make sure the belt is on and then take a good look at the alternator and battery connections, then check the alternator output to see if its charging, it should put out 13.5 to 14.5 volts with engine running, if it doesnt then replace battery, you can also check for power at the alternator and other tests but i dont want to confuse you, a good thing to do is when removed just to double check have the parts store test it for you, it sounds like a bad alternator, hope this is helpful, good luck.

2001 honda odyssey, will a passenger sliding door that is not fully engaged drain the battery? I noticed it was slightly out at the back and the car won't start although I have the inside light switch to...

Will the car start from a jump? If so then have the voltage checked while the engine is running, should be something like 14v. If that's ok then I'd say its still the battery. Have you had cold weather? That's a mjor source of battery death.

Car alarm won't turn off after recharge of battery

When the battery is disconnected and replaced and when the battery is drained and then recharged, the anti-theft device in your car was activated.

Refer to your Manual to arm and disarm the anti-theft device, it should reset

If this does not work using the remote, try locking and unlocking the driver side door with the key and IMMEDIATELY START the car.

SRS light stays on

I have 2002 Odyssey( 59000 miles without warranty). Several months ago the SRS light stayed on after I started the car. Some people said the dealers usually charge $ 80 to 95 to reset the light. Today I sent the car to dealer. After checking the car, they told me the car is under warranty, the parts and repairing are free.
