The radiator should be under pressure. If the cap for the overflow or radiator is worn, then this can cause it to overheat and the system will not have pressure. If the cap is off, the water should be seen flowing, thus letting your know the thermostat and water pump are working, but it doesn't mean they are working 100%.

No compression gasses or pressure from the engine running should be present in the radiator. . Remove rad. cap and start the engine, if it burps out coolant right away, this is a good indication of a blown head gasket or a cracked head.

I have a Ford courier 2006 turbo diesel with auto hubs. I want to put in manual hubs and diff from a 2002 petrol mazda bravo. Are the diff ratios the same ?.

Petrol & Diesel would normally have different ratios because of the different max revs..
Count the teeth on the Crown Wheel & pinion to make sure you get the same ratio

2002 ford courier 2.5 turbo diesel keeps burning out glow plugs

this is almost always due to too lean a mixture, and going overly lean for even 10 seconds will do this-check for vacuum leaks and fuel pressure, most usual reasons for this to happen.

My 1999 turbo diesel escort has got a fuel prob iv changed the fuel filter, and it still juders, trys to stoll and blue smoke comes from the exhaust iv also added a injector cleaner to the fuel. please help

Sounds like the turbo seal is leaking just from the symptoms but the blue smoke can also be valve guides or valve seats. It can also be the piston rings that have seized to the piston body.

It is time to save yourself a $75.00 shop charge and buy a compression tester. (make sure you have the Diesel compression test adapter also) Then check the compression on all cylinders. If the compression is good then your looking at either turbo or cylinder head repairs. The blue smoke is telling you it is time to do something as it will be sitting on the sidelines come the next SMOG test.
