Question about 2002 Buick Rendezvous

1 Answer

I just replaced the the intake manifold gasket in my 2002 Buick Rendezvous with a 3.4 v-6. My question is about the lifters, what should they be set at? Do you just tighten them down? Thank You

The lifter have to be set. If you tighten them down on the wrong stroke, The vales have a certain lash (measurement) to be set at.it will cause your car to skip. not run correct or even damage to the engine. The best tip I can give to be instructional is to visit YOUTUBE and look up valve adjustment and it will show you how to perform this task. Good Luck.

What are the torque specs for the intake manifold on a 2002 Buick Rendezvous

the torque spec's require you to tightened to 10 ft lbs and then tighten another 30 degress which will give you about 12 to 15 ft lbs of torque. make sure that you start in the middle and work your way out when tightening manifold because it will crack easily.

Temp gauge only goes to a 1/4 of the way up. does not heat up

Because its real hard to gert to. Most likely the throttle body needs to be removed and maybe part of the exh crossover. Check if the INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS are leaking. If they are have them replaced and the thermostat at the same time. Intake gaskets are REAL COMMON. Once the intake is off, its a 5 minute job.
