Starter is turning but engine won"t catch and start oil was low could that be the problem

Hi Shelley, you mean the engine turns over but won't start ? It's missing one of three things Spark , Fuel or compression ! The last time it ran , did it run ok or not good ? No blue smoke coming out the tail pipe or smoke coming from under the hood ? Were there any lights lit on the dash , check engine , oil light...etc.. How low was the oil ? If the oil had been very low an you where driving it you could have fried the engine ! Me ,if this car came to my shop I'd pull a plug wire an see if it had spark an if it did I put a fuel presser gauge on an check for fuel ! If it had fuel I'd check compression ! Most usually if low oil were the problem the engine would seas up an would not turn at all. No Start Diagnostic Basics EricTheCarGuy You can watch this to see what is involved in finding out the problem !

Low oil pressure light stays on have changed the oil level sensor now want to change the oil presser unit where can i find it on my 1999 caddy deville its 4.6 engine yes it has good oil that please i need...

Hello, the sending unit is to the right of the oil filter adapter, it is behind the engine mount bracket, it is hard to see and difficult to access. You will need deep oil pressure sending unit socket. It has a electrical connector.

No oil presser. engiene oil light registers no oil presser

Not good. First thing to do is check the oil level and fill it to the mark on the dipstick if it's low.

There is always the possibility that the oil pressure sending unit is giving a false reading. However, if the reading is correct, you have a major problem.

I wouldn't drive the car. You could quickly do major damage to the engine. Have it towed to a service facility.

Low oil pressue light at low rpm

wrong oil need 10w 40 weight caster oil is best. See right now you have thin oil and in hot weather and hot motor temp . It just gets thiner . now with 10w 40 you will bring it up a bit thus lowering the oil presser and bringing it to a happy medium .
