A few weekends ago I had to replace the fan clutch on my '06 Trailblazer EXT LS. In addition to getting the P0495 code from the check engine light, when I rev'd it up it sounded like a jet engine. I knew I was in need of a new fan clutch. After looking under the hood I also noticed the pully on the water pump was wobbling as it spun so I replaced that as well. Since I was in there I also replaced the serpentine belt since it is a cheap replacement. This was the first time I'd done anything beyond brakes and rotors to this TB. I tried to document the steps I took so that I could pass it on to some other DIY'er having the same issue. Below is the website I document things like this on. I hope it helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you clear codes, you can't fix the vehicle,
that removes all data you need to diagnose it

They won't go away until you look up the codes &
how to diagnose them, then component test to find
a problem.

Need professional scanner to check for codes, there
is enhanced data that a code reader won't have access
to & other data you need to look at on a road test

High rev at cold (winter cold!) idle

Your toyota technician should know what a "cold starting solenoid" is. It is the little thing that works your throttle until the motor warms up and something else takes over. I'd suggest going to another technician.

your throttle body sensor may be bad. first get a can of spray carb or fuel injection cleaner and spray it in the opening for the intake for the throttle body. this will clear out the carbon build-up. when you crank it it will run shaky but shoiuld clear up within a minute

Did engine swap on 2000 sonata 2.5 v-6 and am getting tps and iac codes . plus it revs and surges to as much as 5000 rpm and does and does not shift properly

Fix the Throttle position sensor first, then see if things settle down, without that input, computer has to guess.

I have a 2002 gmc envoy bringing up codes P0440 and P0495 does anyone know what these are? it seems to run fine but it makes an awful noise like a jet plane when you accelerate and the check engine light...

P0440 - Evap system large leak. This code has a real common problem of the fuel fill cap either loose or the seal or check valve bad in the cap. There are also some hose and lines from the fuel tank to the charcoal canister that can be the problem. But most common is fuel cap loose or bad.

P0495 - Cooling fan rpm too high. This code sets when the control module has commanded the cooling fan rpm to zero and the rpm exceeds a predetermined amount. Your vehicle has a clutch driven cooling fan that the control module regulates through a solenoid valve. Most common problem is a stuck fan clutch which is consistant with the "jet plane" noise you are hearing. The clutch staying engaged when it should be slipping or "idling"
Good luck
