That's when the front end needs to be checked, could be,
tires out of balance
a steel belt separated in one of the tires
a worn front end component like:
a worn cv joint
a bad upper or lower ball joint
tie-rod end, etc.

My daughter had the same problem! They done an alignment changed the tires and serviced the transmission. None of that worked they finally found out the transmission had to be replaced.

Take your Cobalt to a mechanic who knows how to retrieve a stored DTC instead of blaming a "blown fuse" for the problem.

I own a 2006 Chevy Cobalt and the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably when the mile exceeds passed 50MPH. There is also a noise present that sounds like a wind tunnel of some sort. Thanks!

You need to get the tires checked out.You could just need a balance on them.As far as the noise. It is hard to tell you what to look for without actually hearing the noise.Does it sound like it is outside the vehicle, front, rear, tires, does it change at different speeds, does it do it all the time, warm cold? These are the things you have to find out.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Whenever I go above 60 mph on the highway my steering wheel shakes or vibrates. This has happened before and I had to get my rotors turned. Could it be that I need new rotors? If so, what's the best brand...

Rotors will only cause a shake when braking. Your problem is more than likely out of balance tires.

The best brake components are usually the ones that cost the most.
