Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

WILL NOT DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD

When i try to go down the road there is a weird sound coming from the engine area, sound like it sucking for air. Initially when my wife was on her way home from school, she made it to the stop light then it would not go anywhere. I found P0128 code and replaced the thermostat. Now it will not go. The spark plugs, fuel filter, trans filter has all been changed. Im at a lost.

you can only hear it if you are trying to go forward from a stop

I tested it with the gas cap off and there was no change. It sounds like it is missing, has lack of power.

I have a Hyundai Santa Fe 2001 when it is sitting still and running it runs hot but when you drive it down the road it cools off what causes it

Fan/s not coming on when needed. When moving down the road the airflows over radiator cooling off the engine as when sitting still it needs the fan/s to move air through the radiator.

2004 ford freestar rumbling noise as I drive down the road at about 45-60mph - it sounds and feels a bit like I hit a rumble strip but it is coming from the engine

Sounds like a half shaft. Reach around behind each wheel and see if there is play in the shaft that leads from the wheel to the transmission. There should be no play. Other possibility is a bearing hub. Jack up car, grab the tire at 9 and 3 o'clock. Shake wheel if there is movement not from the tie rod then it is the bearing hub.

Engine runs good on the road, when slowing down engine dies wnen trying to idle. worsr when air is op

You said it is worse when the air is on? It is probably the ad compressor trying to lock down. The drive bearings on the ac compressor are probably almost shot causing a heavy drag on the engine

I would check for vacume leaks in the engine area listen for air sucking like a vacume ...You can spray a small amount of throttle body cleaner on vac lines and the motor will rev up or bogg down that is a leak and need to fix all vac leaks ........If check engine light is on have your codes checked ....hope this helps

My 1988 chevy sport van makes a lot of noise when I drive down the road. It kind of roars from the floor area while driving down the road. Near the transmission area I think.

I think the fan clutch is locked up. With the engine off the fan should rotate by hand with a cold engine. When the engine heats up, the fan clutch locks up to cool the engine, and unlocks after it cools it down to approx 160 deg F. This is to help with fuel milage and noise.

I installed new intake monifold gaskets because the bottom one was sucking air in and my 1996 dodge intrepid 3.5 liter engine would run at 2300 RPM'S. After changing the gaskets the car is hard to start...

Take it to bits again and check the gasket you put on and all the other gaskets as it still sounds like you have air sucking and a blockage somewhere else so check out all parts you done and the parts you dident

sounds more likley you have an air leak this will cause bad starting as it is sucking air in instead of fuel when its cold and wnen it warms up idling will be eratic and misfire check all hoses gaskets relating to the inlet manifold or if its done that kind of mileage crankcase pressure could be the problem but i suspect an air leak yates210456
