Hi! Replacing the transmission support and replacing the transmission fluid is a good idea but I believe it wont solve the problem. It has to be the torque converter located inside the transmission itself. It controls the shifting, when faulty it most likely to give you sudden jumps like the one you experiencing. Used to work on one and replaced the torque converter and it got good. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Hello,

Thanks for using FixYa.

The problem is with the Torque Converter. You might want to have that checked. You might also want to check your modulator for vacuum leak, or bad electrical connection.

I hope this helps. Thanks and good day.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa.
For manual transmissions, there is a center differential lock button on the dashboard that manually locks the front and rear axles. When engaging, amber "C. Diff Lock" indicator lights on the dashboard. It’s just a normal thing. You aren't hearing any beeps, right. You may have used the central differential lock button which is to be used during difficult situations only. Disengage it before it makes any kind of problem with your central differential. These lights are unique solid state electronic units designed for increased driver performance without over-revving and stressing high performance engines. Component involved for this is called ECT - electronically controlled transmission. It will change points of shifting gears in an automatic transmission box. If you turn it on and drive you'll notice that the engine revs up almost until the red line before shifting into next gear. The point is to utilize maximum range of torque available before shifting. It is Very useful for overtaking. Also, these lights indicate a low tyre pressure when a tyre is deflated or has low air pressure. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Wh does 1st gear jump out on accelerator release ?

There are a few things to check. Engine and transmission mounts replace any broken or perished . 1st gear selector shaft has a indent ball and spring to locate the shaft when in gear, check the spring is not broken. The gear box bearings may be worn giving the drive shaft to much end play. also check gear shift linkage is not worn.

When a'm driving down the road it acts like the transmition won't to jump out of gear kinda vibrates you can let up on the gas it's is ok or you can give the gas and it's ok it's a automatic transmition.

Welcome to Fixya

Common indication of transmission problems happens when the transmission jumps out of gear while moving. Most noticeably, the linkage jumping problems will occur from the reverse position. Jumping out of gear indicates that the linkage holding the gears can be worn or broken. Often the gears will return to normal when the car is put back into first gear, but the transmission should be checked, because the slippage could be the beginning of serious problems that won't allow the gears to shift at all. Here's a link for you to diagnose transmission problems.

Sounds like TPS (Throttle Positioning Switch) They develop "hot spots" or wear spots usually at throttle positions that are commonly used alot IE: cruising speed. When they get hot spots they fluctuate looking for solid connection. Replace TPS.

Would broken motor mounts do this as well at about 50 mph..?? i know when the van is put in gear the motor "kick"s or jumps to say.

Definitely broken motor mount(s). Don't drive it far especially if you're feeling it at highway speeds because engine is actually changing position which can damage transmission and drive train by twisting on drive train angles

May be your transmission slipping gears. Have someone look at it. Mine did the same thing at 99,700 miles. Good luck.

After a jump start because of no electrical power, the car will run rough for several days (expected) while it adjusts to your driving habits. I'm not sure about the gears, but I'd try to drive with it like that for a few days and see if it returns to normal.
