Question about 2004 Chrysler Pacifica
Drove car out of neighborhood. Car hesitated then began running rough as though it was choking for power. Got to my office and there was a smell as though plastic were melting. Drove home; same missing-ill performance issue and then went back to tailpipe (muffler comes to edge of bumper in this car) and noticed that the mufler was EXTREMELY hot -- like on fire hot.
This problem came on suddenly --ie, no buildup over time. I''ve done the normal things like check the oil, fluids, etc. and no problems there.
I was thinking maybe and oxygen sensor that went south? A catalytic convertoer that has ceased working? Not sure but boy howdy, I'm not interested in this thing quitting on me in east BF...any thoughts?
