Dash lights arent working on a 99 explorer, fuses are fine and all the other lights work. quit working after installation of aftermarket stereo

OK, that radio use a straight or constant 12 volts a ignition 12 volts and grounds. now your radio ground might be connected to the park light wires of the car. that wire will should grounds ( - ) but when you turn on the park light it turns to 12 volts to illuminate the dashboard gear shift etc. if that is the case you're wondering where you will get grounds to collect the radio, well the antenna wire has ground, so plug and play, and the frame where the radio goes has metal, which is also grounds. disconnect the black wire from the radio and that wire you can test by turning the park lights on and you will get 12 volts

1998 Ford Explorer, 4.0 SOHC No Spark. Engine will crank but it won't start. Replaced the Crankshaft Sensor, Coil Pack, & Spark Plugs. Still no spark. What next?

You are at thhe right trail what controls spark is coil pack crank sensor sparkplugs and plug wire but the most important is power . I mean 12 volt connections and ground This includes checking fuses you need a simple volt meter doesnt have to expensive or fancy just to pick up 12 volts let start with fuses in the engine juction box (there not mark to what it belongs to) make sure none are open. especially fuse 19 and 24 , next go to the crank sensor make sure the tabs are snuggly on now to the coil pack there is a red and light green wire this comes from ignition and feeds 12 volts at the coil pack measure that voltage is it 12 volts if not correct it this is from ignition switch ( you can make a tool that feed 12 volt with a wire and a fuse in series and attatch it to battery and the primary wire this is known as hot wire) next go to the ECM wiggle the wires see if that get a connection going if not go back to the ICM here are the wire you are to measure the tan light green, this is from ECM and it is pulsed it measure 5vlts to 0 volts switched then measure the tan orange the same thing 5 volts to zero, then tan white again 5vlts to zero. any one of these 5 to zero fails you fix is the ecm

12 volt dash plug in not working. Changed fuse - still not working What's next?

Take the socket out and turn it over and then look to see if it has a link wire from feed connection to the centre connection as 9 out of ten faults are with this link wire on the ones i have repaired

Where is the 12 volt fuse on a 2004 ford F-150

The fuse for the 12V accessory plug or "power point" as Ford calls it is located: looking at the fuse box (lower right side panel (just inside the passenger door)--the third row of fuses from the bottom; look for a large horizontal 30A thing (don't know what to call it). You'll see to its right, two 20 yellow fuses, then a 52. The 12V fuse is the second yellow fuse from the right of big 30A thing. The owners manual is useless for fuse information pg 194-195. The graphic in my manual doesn't look anything like the fuse box in my truck. Someone else posted on this site the 12V fuse is #39, being a yellow 20. That was my only clue, so I started pulling yellow fuses one-by-one until I found it. What fun!

Tried to start 2004 f250 with out glowplugs now it wont start. checked fuse still wont start

glow plug light and glow plug are not on same system
check at gow plug conection (top of valve cover both side
follow from relay front valve vover right side silver box)
power 12 volts on all 4 wires in both conector left and right
if not replace relay if 12 volts relay ok (test light clip on ground)
then check glow plug (test light clip on positive ) touch wires going
to glow plug should light up if ok (quick test ) if any fail replaced
if all seems ok look at the oil injection system most common
problem with these motors I have yet to replaced a glow plug or relay
