Question about 2000 Hyundai Sonata

Open Question

My air conditioning in my car is not working properly. At first when you turn it on, the air flows good and then after a while then seems to stop. We turn it up higher and slowly the same thing happens. The air flow is hardly there. I told my mechanic and he told me it was my blower and changed it but the same thing is still happening. now yesterday, i saw some white smoke come out and now the air flow is still poor but also the air is not coming out cool. Could this be that my air is out of freon? pls advise. thanks.

SOURCE: Hyundai Tucson 2.0L Year 2006

Sounds like bad CV (constant velocity) joints in the front half shafts.

They make the most noise at a full wheel cut.

SOURCE: air condition

The "O" rings could be bad thus allowing all the new freon to leak out again. This happened to us.

SOURCE: 1st issue. My car has suddenly started smoking,

You might be looking at a head, or head gasket issue. White smoke is usually due to coolant mixing in your combustion chamber, or cylinder. Blue smoke is from oil. Your loss of coolant and high temperature might be the clue. A leak down test and coolant system pressure test should tell the tale for you.

SOURCE: Hello Experts, How is everyone today.

will attempt to help. check all cables going to the accelorator, their may be one loose, depending on how heavy the foot was with the brother.one may have worked loose, make sure all the cables to the accelerator are tight.unfortunatlly the car could have even jumed time, meaning the timing belt could have jumped a notch. if that's the case, you will need to have the timing belt replaced.does the engine have more than 90,000 miles? that's a replacement mileage for the timing belt.if you've had it replaced recently,it may still be in warranty status. check with your mechanic.is your check engine light on? you can take it to autozone or advance auto parts for a free diagnostic, it will only read if your check engine lights on though. i really hope that i give you some starting points, thank you for choosing fixya.com and look forward to helping you in the future!!!

Why does my air conditioning on my 2009 Pontiac torrent turn itself off?

Was the air flow ok before it stopped working ?
Following could be additional possibilities :
1. Bad blower motor
2. Choked evaporator coil

2nd one seems a primary issue ... if evaporator coil is choked it will flow less air in the cabin and after coil reaches the set temperature the thermocouple sensor will cut off the AC (that might be what has been happening so far) .Now ,You should be hearing the sound of blower but no air from the vents.

Misfire and blowing black smoke

Hi Rick,

There is a number of problems,
1. You need to give the car a proper service. Change plugs, filters, brakes, all the oils.
2. clean the valve body with the flow sensors
The black smoke is most properly from the engine oil that is combusting. This will stop as soon as you have change the air filter.
3. make sure that the spark plug wires are in a good condition as well.

Hello: You need to check your thermostat, radiator for proper flow (radiator shop can flow check your radiator) Also if it overheats in traffic your cooling fan(s) may not be coming on. If you have air conditioning that is working start the engine turn the A/C on. Open the hood, the cooling fans should be running. You also may try flushing the radiator. Follow the directions for the flush procedure on the container. If the radiator has crud it may be cheaper to replace the radiator than repair.

sounds like your radiator is overheating and the a/c isn't getting enough cool air for the condensor.

The a/c problem is probably low freon (r134a) level and the overheat condition is due to a construction in the cooling system.

They are kind of separate issues.

good luck on fixing this one.

check the cooling fans and air flow through radiator,,,,ensure there is no plastic bag stuck over the radiator and look in between the radiator and condenser as those can find their way inside that very small distance between the radiator and a/c condenser. Fans and airflow is a must.

The air conditioning, the blower fan everything stopped working, on 2002 Nissan Sentra. Does anyone have any suggestions?

One suggestion. Have you checked the fuses ?

I would check the AC or blower fuse to start with. If you have the drivers manual it will show you where the fuse box is. Typically there are at least two boxes to check. One in the Engine compartment and one in the passenger cabin.

Look inside the lid of the fuse box to see which fuse may apply to the AC circuits or the blower and check to see if they are blow. the metal link between the two posts that plug in. If the link is missing you need to replace the fuse with one of the same rating. Make sure you know where you took the fuse out from and put it back in the same slot if its good. Check all the main fuses if possible to see if any have blown and replace if they have.
