SOURCE: valve cover gasket replace on a subaru svx

ALL DATA time to R&R valve cover gaskets both sides is 2.1 hours. you will need to remove brackets and connectors on either side, It will also help to take the upper plenium bolts out but not completly pull the plenium. If you don't have a lot of mechanical experiance and some basic tools. you may want to consider to have a local a shop to perform this service for you after you get a estimate. RON.

SOURCE: Leaks oil looks like from valve cover

You have to remove the spark plugs cables and remove the four nuts that you see when the cables are removed.

When the four nuts are removed, simply raise the valuve cover. When replacing the gasket, make sure you get the gromets as well. Those sometimes get worn or crack since they are more exposed than the value cover gasket. Make sure that you clean the cover from oil and replace the gasket with no use of silicon.

Good Luck.

SOURCE: replace valve cover gaskets on subaru svx

I don't have experience with this engine but guess you won't have to remove it for valve cover gasket work but perhaps can lift it a bit [not by hand!] after loosening engine mounts.

SOURCE: replace valve cover gasket

I have the same problem on a 2003 Town & Country. The cover for the front 3 cylinders is quite straight forward, but in order to do the rear cylinders I believe you are going to have to remove the cowling below the windshield. You will need a gear puller to remover the windshield wipers first, then remove the cowling. Than should give you more room to work. It's still not going to be easy, but it sure beats paying hundreds of $$$$ in labor charges.

How to replace a valve cover gasket on a 2003 Chevy trail blazer

Pull off the valve cover, clean it like new, then use a silicone sealer on the valve cover only, place the new gasket on it and let it set-up (around 1 hour) then bolt the cover back on the head. If you are in a hurry, skip the sealer set-up time and just make sure that the gasket does not move out of position when you put the cover on the head. You can use the truck right after the repair.

How do I change a valve cover gasket for a 2003 maszda 2.3L

I recommend going out in purchasing the repair manual for this vehicle. You're saving about a hundred plus doing this job yourself.so spending $20 on a manual isn't so bad. It's a straightforward job basically a 10 millimeter socket and remove all the bolts that are holding down the valve cover. And then anything that's in its in your way to remove the valve cover. A rubber mallet will come in handy you also cause some of those valve covers can be a little hard to loosen. once you have the valve cover off clean the head and scrape cover of any remains of the old gasket.Other than that I don't know what kind of gasket this vehicle uses weather is neopran or cork.also weather there isn't a sensor safe adhesive you need with the gasket. That's why for the 20 bucks for the manual it's worth it could answer the questions that you need to know (torque specs tools etc.)to do this job correctly.some manufacturers don't recommend an adhesive usually wouldn't neopraingasket and is he is not use. But in any event with the new gasket on the valve cover and carefully place it on the engine. Once it's on then put the bolts in and tighten them in a crisscross fashion. Then put everything you took off the vehicle to give you access to the valve cover.it's a simple job you're saving yourself a bundle please get the repair manual. Good luck

Valve cover gasket leaking oil . how do i change gasket . i need schematics .

Since most valve covers have torque specifications to avoid warping the cover and mangling the new gasket (this may be why it is leaking), I wouldn't recommend replacing it without a service manual at hand. There are several offered on eBay with a range of prices:
