2004 Chevy tahoe power steering an power brakes went out at the same time what should I check first

Sounds like you have hydroboost, an alternative to vacuum booster for brakes. Hydraulic pressure from steering is used as driver assist for the brakes.

You can read about it on the link. Hope it helps.

I have a 99 chevy one ton....just replaced the hydroboost and now the brakes get sucked to the floor...ive checked for kinks in lines or blockage still no do I fix ths

You may have a internal leak in the master cylinder remove it from the hydro booster and check to see if there is any fluid coming out the back if not the inner seals are bypassing that's why you got no pressure.

Bleeding air from system after replacing hydroboost

A GM truck?
The hydroboost won't need bled as far as the steering fluid.
If the brake lines have been unhooked and the master cyl is not new,
easiest way is just loosen the master cyl. cover and open the wheel
bleeders one at a time, gravity will do the rest, just wait till clean air
free fluid comes out of each one. Remember to keep the master full.
Takes awhile but not pumping the pedal keeps the air from getting
whipped up in the lines.

Power steering hard and brakes are very weak

It would appear that your vehicle has a Hydroboost system (many Chevys do), which uses hydraulic pressure from the power steering pump to also boost the brakes. Check your power steer fluid level. If it is OK, then either you have air in the system, or the pump is failing. Also check all the hoses and pipes between the pump and brake master cylinder for leakage.

Power steering and brakes hard

Look and if you have the hydroboost system on your vehicle..If so the power steering pump control the brake assit and the power steering..Then if you have that system,, check the power steering fluid level ..If its not low then you might have a bad powersteering pump..The hydroboost is located right behind the master cylinder..It has hoses coming off of it and circles back around to the pump..

2001 Chevy Silverado 3500 6.0L V8 4x4 Dually, I replaced the power steering pump about 2 months ago, now I have power steering fluid leaking from underneath drivers side dash and carpet is saturated, also...

This sounds like the hydroboost unit is leaking.behind the master cylinderThe braking system on this using the power steering pump to provide power assisted brakes instead of a brake booster. The hydroboost unit most likely needs replaced.

I was told my 1990 Buick LeSabre has an electric hydroboost brake system and the hydroboost unit needs replacement. Does anyone know anything about this system and where I can get this part?

Unless you have some wierd oddball modified car......its a vaccum booster, not electric. Usually if they go bad, you will have a hard brake pedal and/or hissing noise when pushing the brake pedal .

I have a 2004 chevy astro van with less then 21,000.00 miles. It is currently at the local chevy dealer every time you apply the breaks the power steering locks

Sounds to me like the hydroboost system has a stuck biass valve in the hydrobooster. The sytem works both the brakes and the steering.
