Question about 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
A very common problem with these cars is the shifters internal components failing leaving many people with their keys stuck in the ignition. The dealer I worked at replaced the shifter assembly and the issue was gone. I can't say for certain because I would need to look at the car. I hope that eases some stress if you were thinking you for sure had a bad transmission. I hope that helps.
