There are different combinations on all the town cars with different color codes, the best thing to do is to go to the auto parts and get a replacement connector, most of the time, when the auto parts sales person looks up an alternator, the computer will suggest, very strongly to replace that connector, they will have the connector most likely,it will have the color codes and the configuration.

Window switch is bad will do down but wont go up ,how do i get window up for a quick fix.

Hi, I assume you're talking driver's window. If not, please get back to me.
pull up your switch, take connector off and hotwire the connector.
motor wires are yellow and white/black stripe.
power is yellow/light green stripe

so connect the yellow to yellow/light green and white/black stripe to ground, key on. this might be up or down--not sure.

if it is down, then connect white/black stripe to yellow/light green stripe and yellow to chassis ground, key on--should go up.

Let me know if you have questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Battery light goes on and off. got new battery twice this year and it still dies. mechanic cannot find problem and says it's not the alternater. help, I never know when the battery is going to die.

ITS EITHER ALTERNATOR OR ALTERNATOR WIRES BROKEN OR DAMAGED.IF ALTERNATOR WIRES LOOKS OKAY.I WOULD REPLACE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY CABLES.WHEN BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON ALTERNATOR IS NOT CHARGING BATTERY.REPLACING BATTERY TWICE A YEAR IS CHARGING PROBLEM.ALTERNATOR NOT DOING ITS JOB.IF YOU BUY ANOTHER ALTERNATOR BUY CORRECT AMP ALTERNATOR BUY WHAT FACTORY PUT IN.
