Question about 1998 Saturn SL

1998 Saturn SL2 firing order for spark plug wires. My friend ripped them all off at one time. Something so simple just got complicated. I even called 2 Saturn dealerships in which both techs gave me completely different orders! :( I need to get to work.

If you have the 4 cylinder engine------ 1-3-4-2 Looking at the engine from the front, the #1 cylinder is the very first one starting from the left.
If you have the v6------- 1-2-3-4-5-6 looking at engine from the front, the #1 cylinder is the first one in the back of the engine starting fron the left, #2 is the first one in front on the left
#3 is the center one in the back
#4 is the center one in the front
#5 is the last one in the back on the right
#6 is the last one in the front on the right

1998 SATURN 4 DOOR DOHC JUST REPLACED THE HEAD GASKET MYSELF WHICH WENT FINE. BOUGHT NEW SPARK PLUGS AND I HAVE THE CORRECT FIRING ORDER BUT FOR SOME REASON 2 OF THE SPARK PLUGS ARE NOT GIVING ENOUGH

Are you saying the engine will not crank, or not start ?
If you think two of the cylinders are not getting spark, something may have happened to the coil pack or the crank-cam sensors.
If all 4 plug wires are getting spark, two of them may be on the wrong cylinders. The firing order is not always the same as the plug wire layout.

I have a 1998 VW jetta I'm trying to change the spark plugs. I know the wiring order and the firing order. I just don't know how to tell if the engine is in the right position to be lined up with the...

If your trying to change spark plugs remove one wire from a plug, replace that plug, reinstall the wire onto that plug and move on to the next plug. You don;t need to worry about firing order unless you plan on changing the wires or the cap and rotor. Even if you where to change the wires if you did them one at a time than the new ones would be in the exact same place as the old ones and there is nothing to worry about,

Now you have a real reason to use the camera in your cell phone. go to a car lot where you see as
S type saturn 91-99 they all have the same engine block, just two different heads. take a picture of the plug wires, go back and hook your car up the same way. in the future just do one plug wire at a time.

The sequence for putting the spark plug wires back on 1999 saturn sl2

I hope you haven't taken all the wires off and now trying to figure out how they went? You need to do one at a time, match up the length and plug it in. If you took them off, you will need the firing order, and then figure out the coil pac. All cars engines have the number one cylinder towards the front most part of the engine, whether right or left side, front is No. 1. The firing order is stamped into the engine block, probably where you can't see it. But you can find it on line easy enough, and the coil pac usually starts at 1,2,, then 3,4,, then 5,6, etc, 2 plugs per coil, You will have to find that on line also. then just find the closest match in length and plug them in, you might end up moving one or 2 because of the length, but that's ok. Hope this helps.

HOw to replace spark plug wires on a 1998 Mitsubishi montero sport?

Installing New Spark Plug Wires Is Simple, Especially Of One Wire Is Replaced At A Time. Compare The Length Of The Old Wire With The Length Of The New Wire. Replace Each Wire With One Of Equal Length.Make Sure The New Wire Is Fully Attached On The Plug And In The Distributor Or Coil Module.

Spark Plug Wire Replacement Is More Complicated If All The Wires Are Removed At Once. Then You Must Use The Engine Firing Order And Cylinder Numbers To Route Each Wire Correctly.
