Question about 2000 Chevrolet Malibu

Chevy Malibu 2000 A/C control turns on and off.

Very annoying! This a/c issue is driving me crazy. There is no pattern of behavior that I could say is making the a/c go off and on intermittently. The weather temperature could be cool or really hot that the problem could start striking at any time while I'm driving. Sometimes is hot but the A/C button light does not even blink once.

I've also noticed that when it goes off I either press or pull the fan control (selector, knob) and it comes back on the cold air, sometimes for a while and other times permanently until I turn of my car. When i press the button to keep the air circulating inside the car, it shuts down and also shuts down the A/C button and it goes back to the original position, which is the button to the left. And the problem starts again.

Please any suggestions and help is highly appreciated! Thanks!!!

I had the same problem and fixed it myself. You need to remove the In-Dash climate control unit, open it up and re-seolder the connections for the ac switch. It won't hurt to clean the contacts on the control knobs with alcohol. More information on the repair can be found at www.imcool.com/articles/aircondition/AC_ControllersAreRepairable.pdf

This sounds strongly like the control panel on the dash. If you can make a difference by moving one of the buttons or knobs, it's likely in the panel. Replace it. If you need further instructions, let me know.

I have a 2000 Nissan altima. When ever I'm driving and I honk the horn the horn doesn't stop and when I press the horn while it is going off it unlock and locks the door.

Turn the steering wheel all the way one direction and try it, then turn it all the was the other direction and try it. If it changes behavior, then the issue is something called a clock spring that is in the steering column. If it does not change the behavior then you either have a floating ground or a bad control module.

This is a speed sensor for 2000 chevy malibu. Can you tell me where it is located.

The picture is hard to see and I can't really tell.
But I can tell you about the speed sensors .You have 3 of them .
1 on each wheel and 1 at the output of the transmisstion tailstock area .
Bascily they generate a small referance voltage driven by the wheels turning and the driveshaft send this voltage to the VCM or PCM the computer witch in turn compares the voltages and adjusts main engine controls like fuel trim intake air and the abs system .
If you are haveing with abs control look at the on the wheels they can get dirty on the wheels .
If you are haveing more major function issues look to the main one at the rear of the transmission that measures the total speed of the driveshaft front or rear wheel drive they all work together

Anti theft system on my 2000 malibu goes off when driving

Its your ignition switch. Its not recognizing when you turn it to the start position. The little terminals inside the switch get burned and wear down. When mine went out, the whole power to the dash would flicker, even cut out when driving. I actually wired my system to 1 toggle switch for on and off, I kept the anti theft wires attached to the switch. I also have a starter switch, if I fail to turn the key like I'm trying to start the car, the theft light comes on and the car dies right after starting.

2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx - Electrical Problems?

Hello I am not sure if this is the exact fix but I was having the same problem and I took my Malibu in to be checked and it appears to be a problem inside the steering column. When I turn the steering wheel it makes the door locks go crazy!! So although this is not a fix it may be a place to look for a frayed wire or a short in the wires. I am taking my Malibu in on Monday to be checked. Good luck to all having the same problem.
