I have a 2003 Sebring 2.4L DOHC. I changed the timing belt and the battery. After this maintenance, the car would not idle. It would run fine, but if I let off the accelerator it would die. I then replaced the Idle Air Control Valve.
It ran fine the first couple of times we drove it, but now it is getting a CEL and is idling very rough. Does it just need the computer reset or is it something else?

You'll need to find out the code that is related to the check engine light. Auto Zone or Advanced Auto can get the codes from the car. That should get you in the general direction.

That is the code for the MAP sensor. The sensor may be bad. I would check for any vacuum leaks, or disconnected vacuum hoses.

Does the engine have to be taken out of the 2006 Chrysler Sebring to replace the water pump?

NO in does not. some you have to disconnect the upper motor mount and jack it up a little bit [use a piece of wood between the oil pan and the jack if you do this] most times the water pump is easy to change.

Is my 2.4 litre 4cyl 01 DOHC 16Valve sebring engine an "internal interference engine"

Regarding your timing belt, if it snaps, you will damage your engine,
every thing from the lifters to pistons , so if it needs to be changed
its recomended to do so .
good luck.

When to change timing belt on a 2007 chrysler sebring?

I was not sure which engine that your vehicle is equipped with. I looked at a 2.4 and 2.7 liter engine and these bolt seem to have a timing chain. This should not need the regular maintenance that the older belt models did. You should be in luck!
