Hello i have a coaster motorhome 1990 i need to know what the orange light is on the dash below the fuel gauge . it has only just come on . Im woundering if it has anything to do with the fuel tank

if the fuel gauge is reading low --under a 1/4 full then very possibly it is a low fuel light and you have about 5 liters of fuel left to get to a fill point

There most likely isn't a problem. The fuel gauge works off of a reisistor board that's mounted on the fuel pump assembly. There is a arm with a float attached to one end. On the other end there are needles that touch the resistor board. The float level changes where the needles touch the risistor board and that changes your fuel gauge. Not all resistor boards read exactly the same, especially if an AC Delco pump wasn't used. The gauge is just reading off a little bit compared to your original one. Try filling up, resetting your trip meter and then driving a good bit. When you fill up the next time figure your gas mileage by dividing the miles you went by how many gallons you used. I bet your still getting around the same gas mileage.

Vehicle speed sensor. Top of the tranny is a connection. From this, a cable runs to the back of the odometer. Probably need to replace it

I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. The low fuel light came on after I put in 3/4 of a tank of gas. Then the light went off, and all seems fine. It was a 100 degree day when this happened. Could that have been...

Well anything is possible.
The low fuel sensor for the warning light is part of the gauge in the tank. As long as the gauge works and the light does not come back on I would not be concerned. You may want to watch your mileage to make sure you don't run out of fuel if the gauge does fail.

What is the tank size for the 1500 ,trying to get fuel milege on truck .

To determine fuel mileage, you don't need to know the tank size. Fill the tank and write down the odometer reading. Drive a few days, then fill it again. Write down how many gallons it took to do that.
(gallons are right on the pump at the station). Subtract the miles you first wrote down from the reading when you filled it the second time. That's how many miles you drove. Divide that number by the gallons you used and that tells you how many gallons it took per mile. So, if you drove 100miles and used 10 gallons, your mpg is 10.
The capacity of the tank is not how many gallons you can use before you run out of fuel. All tanks have a space below the fuel pickup that contains one to three gallons of fuel you can't use. So, if planning a trip etc, figure your "range" on how many gallons it takes to fill it up from a pre-determined low reading on the gauge. ignoring the actual capacity.
One tip: it's good practice to never permit any vehicle with an electric pump go much below 1/4 tank. The pump is cooled by the fuel in there and running low will cause it to run hot and shorten it's life.

Fule gauge dose not work right

Does it stick at about half full? I would fill up, the gauge would show full then after 60-70 mile when gauge should show less than half to a 1/4 tank the gauge still showed 1/2 tank so I'd go ahead and fill it up. Finally, I watched my mileage and when my yellow low on gas light came on I filled it half full. After a couple of weeks I filled it up and the gauge has worked every since.

FUEL SENDING UNIT IN THE FUEL TANK FAULTY.THE FLOAT ARM ATTACH TO SENDING UNIT.THE FUEL SENDING IS A RHEOSTAT WITH ELECTRICAL CURRENT FLOWING TO IT.YOU HAVE A COIL OF RESISTANCE WIRE IN RHEOSTAT.WHEN FLOAT+ ARM RISE WHEN PUMPING MORE FUEL IN TANK THIS CAUSE MORE CURRENT FLOW THROUGH COIL FROM RHEOSTAT TO FUEL GAUGE WHICH CAUSE FUEL GAUGE MOVE TO FULL MARK.WHEN FUEL LEVEL DROP THE FLOAT + ARM DROP CAUSE LOW CURRENT THROUGH RHEOSTAT COIL WIRE IN WHICH CAUSE FUEL GAUGE NEEDLE TO DROP SHOWING LOW FUEL LEVEL IN THE FUEL TANK.

Sending unit. Its all one unit including fuel pump, float, ect. The check engine light is because of the high or low resistance in the unit. Let me know if you have already fixed.. You have to drop the tank to get to it also.
