My 2003 lincoln LS v8 is showing codes p1714 p1715 and p1270. What are those and how do I fix it?

P1270 - Engine RPM/Vehicle Speed Limiter Indicates the vehicle has been operated in a manner, which caused the engine or vehicle to exceed a calibration limit. I have a 96 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cylinder 2.4 the motor and it has a problem in the transmission and the service engine light is on and does not change and I put the scanner and it mark the code p1715 and I...

i dont know what that code means but should not be hard to find out. Never change anything on your car guessingg that it is the problem. there might be a faulty sensor or a broken wire and you went out and spent alot of money and headache to put a new transm !!!!!since your problem is defenitly not the transmission, i would say there is poor comunication between the gear box and ecu

Van did not shift correctly; very slow but finally did shift gears. Advance Auto machine showed code P1715. What does this mean?

It means shift solenoid B inductive signature. Basically, the van is not able to properly control it's shifts due to either an electrical problem leading in to the transmission solenoids or due to an internal transmission issue. This is not something you really want to mess around with. The transmission sounds like it is basically in 'fail-safe' mode meaning that it is trying to protect itself even though there is a problem in the system. I highly recommend you get it to a shop ASAP so that you minimize the damage.

Car runs fine but sometimes it will not shift into overdrive the code that comes up is a P1715

p1715 = Manufacturer control transission

Is it due for a trans oil and filter change?
