SOURCE: When to replace the timing belt on a 2002 audi a4 1.8T

From my experience all Audi timing belts are reccommended to be replaced after a maximum of 5years regardless of mileage. But many will cover the mileage limit first: 4 cylinder diesels 60,000. 6 cylinder diesels 80,000. 4 cylinder petrols can range from 80,000 - 115,000. 6 cylinder petrol 80,000. 8 cylinder petrols are chain driven and have no replacement interval.
These may sound high, but I regularly replaced belts at these mileages. Id reccommend replacing tensioners, rollers and dampers where applied. In my memory I have not come across a failed timing belt (other than ones caused by another failure) at these intervals.
Labour rates will vary greatly, especially here in England. Most A4s will be 2.5 - 3.0 hours of work, 3.0 petrols, when done correctly, may require more hours of labour charge.
Shop around, go by reccommendations.

SOURCE: Timing belt replacement for a 1999 Audi A4(elective)

Well, the labor on this specific Audi will be 5.5 hrs+ parts. the labor depends on the shop. every shop is different. lets say you brought it to my shop.my labor charge is 50 dollars an hour so, that will be a $275.00 labor charge added to the part cost which would be $220.44 for the timing belt and tensioner combined. this brings you to a total of $495.44 for the total repair. Keep in mind, this figure was calculated on the basis of a 50 dollar an hour labor charge. it can flucuate ethier way, depending on what shop you take this vihical to. I must say that, its better to replace it before it breaks and, it is a good rule of thumb to replace the water pump as well at the same time as this repair.

Please rate and have a great day:)

SOURCE: Audi A4

Not sure if they've changed it but this is what i do for my 99 a4

First remove the screw in the handle pull, it should be next to where your fingers go.
Pull down on the black piece of plastic and remove the screw form the door
Then remove the screws on either end of the door, one near the door jam on top and one near the other side, same place.
Finally pull up then out and the door panel should come out

Hope that helps

SOURCE: Windscreen wipers not working. Is this the motor

I had this problem two years ago on my Audi A4. First you must diagnose this problem. In order to find out the cause of wipers stopping you can try follows: 1. Carefully extract the wiper arms from their axles (two pieces). In some cases you need to use an extracting tool. Heed of the windscreen !!! 2. Disassemble the plastic covers from the bottom of the windscreen. 3. With the bonnet up you can start the engine, (transmission in "N" or "P" position and parking brake on). Now you must switch on the control lever of the wipers, and go to the engine compartment. If the wiper motor runs let the wiper motor running for a few minutes and switch off. Go to the step 4. If the wiper motor do not runs you must check first the electrical feeding of the motor. It is necessary to unscrew three bolts of the mechanism and disconnect the electrical coupling (difficult assurance). If the electrical feeding is OK you must replace the motor - steps 5, 6, 7. If not you must check electrical connections, the control switch of wipers and electric cables. 4. Now you must check the two bearings of wiper mechanism with your hand. In the most cases the left bearing is out of order (is very hot). This is the most encounter fault of the wipers running at Audi. 5. For have enough space to manipulation the wiper motor together with their mechanism you must extract the plastic cover of the engine computer box, and extract also the box screws. Then you can move slowly the engine computer box, just for a few milimeters. 6. You must disconnect the electrical coupling of the motor (difficult assurance), unscrew three bolts of the mechanism and extract together with the motor. You must move them slowly between windscreen and engine computer box until the wiper motor go out together with the mechanism. This is the most difficult operation! 7. Now you can repair the bearings, replace entire wiper mechanism or replace the wiper motor. It is not very simply, but it works. Heed of the windscreen !!! Refit in reverse order. Windows of an Audi A4 2002 model have freezed what is the problem.

All Windows or 1? If all check fuses. layout is in owners manual as well as locations. If one window either the window switch or window motor. If you a little mechanical you can change out switch. If not find a good mechanic with references on your car. Motor is more labor intensive. Hope just the switch. If it is the fuse and you replace it and it blows again, short in the wiring. Good luck

The fuse for radiator fan blows off whenever it is replaced on audi A4 2002

I would suggest that the electric fan motor is shorted out, unplug the motor and see if the short goes away, if it does replace the fan motor.

Windscreen wipers stopped working ,went slow to begin with now stopped altogether!please advise and also cost??this is for an Audi A4 2002 ,I believe the motor is still ok as they will move tiny bit!!

Common for the linkages to fall apart or jam. You need to remove all the plastic cowling and have a look, it should be obvious when you see it.

Remote wont open boot on Audi A4 2002.Working fine for doors. This stopped working without warning.I have to use the key manually.I did what it said in the manual about position of the door lock but to no...

The motor is under the boot lid if you take platic panelling off then disconect the switch and re-fit it then it may just be a bad conection , if you have no joy then it may need replacing or the electrics need testing.

Audi A4 coil pack

There are 4 coils, one for each cylinder. Audi tend to replace one at a time to save costs. So yes this is probably quite likely.

Rear window winder on my A4 2002

Did it make a crunching sound when it first broke? Can you hear the window motor run when you activate the switch? You need a new window regulator. You'll have to buy the part and then take the door apart to replace it or take it to the stealership and have them do it for three times as much. The part should cost you about $100 plus shipping.
