Question about 2004 Volkswagen Touareg

2 Answers

Hi I have copied and pasted this from someone called Hollie as I have exactly the same problem and I seem to be going from garage to garage being told different things, Hollie if you found a solution could you please get in touch neilpickstock@hotmail.com After a time driving, a flashing light which is red comes on the dashboard accompanied by a lovely screaming beeping sound. There is plenty of oil in the tank as we've put in 4-5 litres over the past 2 weeks. Therefore I think it's an electrical fault. Any ideas on how to locate the oil switch and stop the £#+=^& beeping sound. The beeping sound only comes on at low revs and stops when travelling over 50mph. Please help it's doing my head in... Thanks! Neil (Hollie 2009)

Hi Goeffreyh, thanks, unfortunately I made a bit of a mistake, for some reason a picture of a vw tourag came up, my vehicle is a T4 transporter 1986. Not sure why it didnt come up as that!

I rrcently had the dash changed as a garage believed it was an electrical fault, it was not, Does your last reply go for a T4 aswell? the hi pressure sensor is new but have not changed the other sensor yet(as i understand there are two) i'm not very mechanically minded

    Hopefully

    Neil

After driving awhile car warms up and oil thins out need to check oil pressure oil pump may be causing problem or pump screen clogging-bad oil filter - other is possible sludge problem ///lower revs slower pump works and lower drop in pressure same as higher reves higher pressure

Actually when multigrade oil(10/40)gets hot, it thickens, it does NOT get thinner,so your warning light is about low level not low pressure, quiet the opposite of the "advice" given before (did he work for F.O.R.D.(Fix Or Repair Daily.)??try changing the dipstick as a first line,it has a sensor on the end.then put in STP/molyslip(just in case)then check for a possible oil pump problem.cheapest first..

Hi
I would have though your garage would have either cleaned or replaced the aur mass sensor.
You can find this four/five pin plug somewhere between the air filter and the throttle housing or google its location.
These often dont show up well on diagnostic computers.
You can run engine with plug disconnected to see if it runs better or not. If it does then buy and fit a new sensor.
All that really controls your fueling is coolant sensor and air sensors....these often fail the most.
Good luck

It's possible you may have a faulty air flow meter. Recommend a trip to the garage for an analysis. Motor will not achieve the speed it should have such a defect. OJS

Loss of Power from a Mitsubishi 1.9 DiD engine

Hi, check the air filter. Have helped friends in the past who have poor running vehicles that have been regularly serviced by a garage. I looked at them, found the air filter black with dirt....totally clogged up....never been changed since new!!! Many garages seem dont seem to bother changing it when they should!!! Cars need air to work (more air than fuel) so try this. Paul
