Question about 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Batteries last about 5 to 6 years. If the battery has been in the vehicle longer than that its time to go.
You can remove the battery from the vehicle and bring it to Sears Auto center and have it load tested. If it fails you need a new battery. Make sure they sell you a battery with the same cold cranking amps (CCA's)
post location and size as the old one. If you check your owner manual it will tell you which battery to purchase. You can also call the dealership and they will gladly tell you the spec's for the battery.
