In some cases worn cam bearings can cause it. Not saying I know that applies to your vehicles engine. Just an unpleasant thought I had.

Where is oil pressure switch on 1992 ford 150

Most oil pressure switches/sending units were located are near the oil filter. Did you have the same symptoms before you changed the oil pump? How many miles on your engine? As the bearings (main, rod, camshaft, etc) wear, the gap where oil flows through gets larger, and oil pressure will decrease. If a direct reading gauge shows very low oil pressure at idle, it's time to rebuild or replace the engine.

Where is the oil pump on a 1997 mercury sable 3.0 engine think its weak as I hear valves chatter and changed oil filter it was only half full of oil is this normal

Half full is not normal. You may have leak or burn. Clatter is usually the hydralic valve lifters. Does it quiet down after it's been running a while? What is the oil pressure?

My 89 f-150 300,000 miles starts great runs great with good oil pressure never been hot loses power at times and will die when idling. the check engine light comes on immediately when this happens and

check all vacuum hoses for deterioration /hard /loose. Check power brake booster for air leaks with the foot on the brake (idle will drop or stall)

When you had the pump replaced did anyone look at the rod and main bearings? 99% of all low oil pressure problems I've seen has been directly related to bearing wear, not a bad oil pump.
Replacing the pump will give you slightly better pressure temporarily but that won't last very long.
Verify the actual oil pressure using an external mechanical gauge. If it's low (likely it is) go back into the oil pan and use plasti-gage on the bearings to measure clearances.
In reality though, in an engine with that many miles, it's best to either completely rebuild or replace it though.

You can try a new oil pump, but in my 30 plus years 99 out of 100 your bearings are gone! you would have to pull the oil pan to do oil pump so i would pull 2 or3 main crank caps and check bearings if badly scrached or copper spots showing through aliumun coating there is your low oil press. probiem.you will need a new motor sorry. I have a 79 ford f-150 with a 351w modified engine. when i first start the engine it has approx. 65 psi oil pressure. as the engine warms up the pressure slowly drops off to around 12 psi.the oil is clear...

First off its not a 351W modified. you are confusing two different blocks. its either a 351 windsor or a 351m (modified) and if it is the modified its not that bad. these engines are notorious for having low oil pressure. at idle they can be anywhere between 10 and 40. as long as you gain 10 psi per 1000 rpm its fine. and a pump doesnt drop off as it gets warm. it either works or it doesnt, oil pressure dropping off is a bottom end bearing problem

Have you changed your oil? Rotella 15W-40. These engines really don't like old oil. It becomes too thick for the injection pump to work correctly. Another possibility is a bad cam sensor on the front of the motor. Most engines call this the crank sensor but on this engine you have to look it up as a cam sensor.

Low oil pressure

If low oil pressure is verifiable the only repair is replacement of the oil pump assembly.

Start by verifying oil pressure with a mechanical oil pressure gauge. If oil pressure is low then replace oil pump.

97 f-150 4.2 ltr - no oil pressure

First thing I'd do is hook -up an external gauge at sender spot & confirm if pressure there or not, or is the engine making sounds like it's obviously not getting any oil pressure?
