Question about 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

Location of oil filter on 2004 cavalier with quad 4 eng.....inside oil pan maybe?

    I found the's (looking from front of car) it is on the driver's front of the engine under a black cap (1-1\8" socket to remove )look just under the air intake connecter (which has to be removed to gain access)

I belive its in a housing or the oil pan, if its in the pan you will see a cover with a hex head to remove, its about 3 inches in diameter, but if you look there should be a housing with a cap type cover that you remove and the filter is inside, its a cartriage type filter,

    note if its in the oil pan you will see this cover from the bottom of pan, the cover will be at bottom of pan,dont need to remove the pan, hope this helps, good luck.

Get a large pan to catch the oil. Place it under the engine where the filter is located. Turn the filter counterclockwise and remove. Reverse the procedure.

Where is the oil pump location for my 2004 chevy cavalier 2.2 ecotec?

My info says you have to remove front cover. The front cover is on the same end as accessory belt. Rockauto showed an oil pump repair kit for your vehicle. I can only tell you what my database shows.

How much oil with the filter does a 2.2 ohv cavailer take and where is the filter located

it holds 4 and a half to 5 quarts of oil.the filter is located on the right rear of the eng on the passenger side.

Engine knocks after starting and running after 2 minutes.oil guage dropped.let truck sit then started truck again ran for two minutes and started knocking this the oil pump and where is it located

yes it sounds like it,but check your oil too just to be sure ,your oil pump is in the oil pan take off oil pan u should see it,it will be on the sump end of the pan(caution) the oil pump on most vehicles are connected to the distributor so u might have to retime in eng after u do this,Hope this helps and good luck

Something leaking up front on left side.oil is ok,powersteering is ok,brakefluid is ok.

It could be your transmission fluid leaking, Check to see what color it is, if it's a bright red than its that. If you find out that it is your transmission fluid, i would not recommend to drive your car. You may have busted the fluid pan or put a hole in it, which means you may have to go buy a new pan, gasket for the pan, maybe a new filter, and some transmission fluid. Hope this helps!

Trying to find the oil pan drain plug and the oil filter

when under the car the drain plug is in the center at the lowest back side of the oil pan and on top of the car the oil filter is about 6 inches forward and right of the oil filler cap and is a black plastic cap with a hex head measuring 1 1/4" ~32mm

Where is the tranny filter?

the transmission filter is located inside the transmission. Oil must be drained and Transmission oil pan must be removed to access the filter. Hopefully this helps

3.8 is under the belly pan nearest the front of the engine...why don't you just have it changed by nice mechanic and if your nice, maybe he'll let you watch!

*if ur cars eng is 2.2 it will be under the power steering pump close to the oil filter
* if ur cars eng is 2.4 is will be on the head under the coil cover front the power steering pump
