It seems that the autobox is the problem. the gearbox still moves the vehicle but there is no pressure build up in the gearbox. there is a hydraulic drum in the gearbox that may have a hole through all the years of working. this should not be a costly exercise. take it to a gearbox specialist and they should spot the prob. take care

Why doesn't my 4 wheel low engage, seems like it goes back to two wheel drive. 4 high work good but turning switch to 4 low turns off 4 wheel, could it be electrical or something else. Any help is...

there is a max speed limit to engage and use 4 wheel low. try to engage while rolling 5mph and do not exceed 20mph in this "power" gear. also make sure the all drive components are well greased. lack of grease throws off drive alignment and may not easily engage.

I have a hyundai sonata automatic which will turn

Yeah.. I have ideas.. .what you observe is normal. The 'check engine' light always comes on initially (until the engine is started) to verify the bulb is good. After the engine starts (and there's no problem with the power train, this light turns off (unless there's a problem, if such a problem exists, the check engine light will come back on).

I suggest probably hydrocarbons blocking the throttle system. so get the throttle bodies on your ca cleaned, Pour a bottle of fuel system cleaner into the tank and run it exclusively on Shell V-Power petrol. DD tried this and the car ran a lot better.
