Oil in cooling system

Head or intake gasket leaking. Is the coolant milky? Or do you just see a little oil in the colant? If it's not milky i would not worry. If it's milky ,To buy you some time add some bars leak into the radiator. Then change the oil and antifreeze.

97'Saturn sl2...black substance that looks like oil has filled up the tank where I put antifreeze.Started off like a moca, milky substance leaking on the ground pretty bad,so I had radiator replaced & now...

So sorry to hear of this Problem, But You have either A head Gasket that has Acquired a Crack or A crack in the Engine Block somewhere between the Cylinders and an Oil port. this is what will cause Milky Oil in the Coolant reservoir/overflow tank, if the color is More Brown then it is Definitely engine Oil if it is Reddish then it is a trans coolant leak But since You say you replaced the Radiator then My money goes to and Engine Problem, You nee to See a Professional Mechanic shop to have the System Pressure Checked, And The Oil Dipstick checked, if You have Milky foam on that stick then You will have narrowed down the Problem

Think you have a water in the oil problem, milky brown oil is the detergent additive in the oil reacting with moisture, have the cooling system pressure tested, looking towards head gasket

2000 durango milky substance in oil cap

milky in the oil cap is ok -- this is caused by condensation and oil mixing inside the oil cap and it is nothing to be worried about.
now if you look at the dip stick and you see a milky looking oil on it -- and if you do a oil change and notice it to be milky - then this is a sign that you may have a blown head gasket, and this you need to worry about.

Engine runs fine it blows white smoke out of exaust and uses one quart of oil in one hundred miles

This is symptoms of a blown head gasket.
White smoke is antifreeze burning in the combustion phase.
Oil is also seeping through and being eliminated in the same manner.
Check your tailpipe for oil. Also - check your oil. If it is brown/milky instead of black - you have a head gasket failure or cracked block/cylinder.
Check the coolant quality too. Floating oil or a brown murk - means the same.

Good luck!!

I noticed that when i put anti freeze and water in their is this brown milky stuff

the brown milky stuff is rust and you have mixed two different types of antifreeze together it formed a reaction, you will need to do a complete flush and top up with the correct antifreeze for your engine asap.DO NOT MIX ETHYLENE GLYCOL WITH ANY OTHER TYPE OF ANTIFREEZE..........

01 pontiac gt overheating. if a/c or heater on it

It may be the intake manifold gasket that has gone bad and you may be losing the antifreeze in your engine. Pull the oil dip stick out and see if it' over filled and look under the oil cap, look to see if there is any sign of antifreeze in your engine oil. Under the cap would have a milky brown sludge and under the PVC valve too, if there is then your engine is on it's way out if you do not repair the leak. Antifreeze is corrosive to the engine bearings and it's been know that as low as 1000 miles will cause the engine to go bad with antifreeze in the engine. The intake manifold gasket is known to go bad in the 3.4 liter engines till 2004 where they came up with an upgraded gasket. Good luck and keep me posted.

Leaking antifreeze from motor toyota pathfinfers

Sounds like your head gasket is broken. I would check your dip stick where you check your oil level. Look if the oil is milky (oil and antifreeze mixed). if it's just oil it would be just brown.

Oil in the radiator

are you sure its oil in the antifreeze? oil is brown. your van should have dexcool wich is orange, not green.(looks red sometimes)check the coolant again and check the oil. if it looks milky or foamy, there is coolant in it. sounds like it may be a blown head gasket. not good. stop driving it if you want to save your engine. you need to replace the head gasket/s, and flush the cooling system.
