Included with the rubber drive coupling I would look be the rear engine/ transmission mount. If it is coming apart the engine gear box slews around when drive is engaged.

My Subaru is making a jerking feeling

What year? What model? Jerking... when? Where do you feel the jerk? Do you have a "Check Engine" light on the dash?

You may have just lost a front axle. The rubber boot around the CV joint cracks, and dirt gets in and ruins the CV joint. This shows up as a sideways jerking in the steering wheel, rapidly getting worse and worse. It feels dangerous, and it IS dangerous. If it\'s allowed to continue, it could break the axle shaft - you certainly don\'t want that to happen on the highway.

If you\'re NOT talking about a sideways jerking in the steering wheel, please desribe what you DO feel, and when it happens, and if your "Check Engine" light comes on. It might possibly be nothing more serious than your air conditioner turning on & off.

Knocks when you turn, steering column jerks

Hi there - S Wilkins here.
Could be a front hub bearing or axle CV joint.
You may be able to raise the front wheels and move them around and find what is loose.

Odd creaking sound from front end

It can be a C-V joint or other suspension part. The reason for the brief sound is the slack in the joint until it jams into position. Jams being the keyword here. There are bearings and rollers in the joint. When they disentergrate, there is space. The bearing rollers pile up and JAM together so the C-V shaft turns. It can only work like this for a limited time, then come apart.

Another possibility is a strut joint or balljoint. The weight shifts under acceleration and the part rocks in the loose fitting. It seizes into a driveable position, but only for a limited number of times under it lets loose.

As you stated, "Like it is pulling itself apart" is pretty accurate for what is happening in the C-V joint.

Vibration coming from front axle when coming to a stop it gets worse, brakes are good , maybe cv joint?

if you feel the pulsation in brake pedal when stopping. its a warped brake rotor thats causing it. for bad cv joint symtoms--- Unusual noises when making turns. As you are driving on the road and you make a turn at the corner, if you start hearing unusual sounds coming from under the car then this is one of the symptoms of a bad CV joint. These noises will sound like something is clicking beneath the car every time you turn the steering wheel. Evidence of a damaged boot. Steering wheel feels heavier. The steering wheel will start to feel tighter and heavier and you can hardly make simple turns to the left or right. In severe cases you might even feel heavy vibrations like you are driving down a rocky road.

A/c cools only in the rear seat unit but not in the front seat dashboard area. why?

You have a blocked/misaligned hose in the front seat dashborad area.
You have to remove the dashboard to straighten out the hose.

My 2000 explorer xls after i reach 70mph and let go of the accelarator starts to shake till it drops to 65mph or i press the acceralator again. what could be the problem?

It could be a few things..
Does the shaking feel more so in the stearing wheel ?? Or does it feel more so from the back of the car and/or in the seats ??

If you feel it more in the back and/or seats - its more than likely somthing in the back end..
Which could also mean it mght be an issue with the drive shaft.. Like a u-joint going bad etc..

Either way - could be as simple as a unbalanced tire.. We hope...

I hope this helps !!
Please rate me good ;o)

1993 subaru legacy front cv axles

First thing to have checked would be the front CV axles. If the rubber boots rip and allow the grease out it can damage the joints and they will make a clicking sound. Worn out axle joints can also bind and make it feel jerky. If they are making that loud of a noise it could become a safety issue, have them checked out soon.

I have a 2001 grand am that makes a rubbing or grinding noise from the front end. I have some vibrations in the sterring wheel as well. this is not noticable until the car is above 30mph.

Your front struts may be bad,There is a rubber seat at the top of the strut that can start to bind while driving and turning. Replace struts and realign front end.
