Question about 2003 Ford Mustang
My '03 Mustang started acting funny today. I drove it fine all day and then in the afternoon it started sputtering after i accelerated. It would only sputter after I took my foot off the gas and when I was going up slight inclines.
I"ve heard that these year model have problems with defective MAF (mass air flow sensors. i only mention this because i just saw a you tube and a mechanic had mentioned that..but the sputtering could be caused by a number of things. sounds like it could also be a fuel delivery problem, possibly a sticky fuel injector..you can try a quick easy fix by trying some Sea foam fuel treatment and drive it around for about 30 miles to see if that will clear it up. Also does you car idle properly? I mean does it lope or surge? because if it does you may want to clean the IAC (idle air contol), this is just a recomendation, my car was doing this and i never ever seviced it before, and you should have seen the biuldup of crud on the pintle, i cleaned it, and now it idles perfectly. it only took me 10 minutes to take off and clean it. hope one of these suggestions helps if not please get back to me.
