1997 achieva hard to start sputters, runs fine

1997 achieva hard to start, starter turns fine but acts like it may not be getting enough fuel. Once you get it started it runs fine with no problems. Everytime you shut off the engine the whole routine starts over again.

Bought my 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva I had to wiggle the key to get the lock solenoid to turn I had a passcode issue I think got that figured now I cannot get the key to turn at all how do I bypass this

Best bet is to try to get it to turn again. Once in the on position, the is a slot , use a small pin/paperclip in it and push down the release button. Pull the ignition out. Replace it a do a relearn. Other wise, drill it out until you can turn it to the run position. Relearn is, turn the key on for ten minutes, off for thirty seconds. Do this three times, then start after the third time. Have a battery charger on it. Battery goes low or it you engaged the starter at any time, you have to start over.

Car was running fine then sputtered and stopped

Have you used a fuel pressure gauge to insure you are getting correct pressure? Just hearing the pump run is not enough.

My 1997 Olds Achieva was running fine last night. It has plenty of antifreeze in it however it did get really cold at night. I started it the next morning and it started up and ran really rough like I was...

If oil is leaking on the starter it is a fire hazard. Repair the hose and replace the starter. The age of your car also warrants replacing the fuel pump and the fuel filter. They do not handle age and water well. (Methenol fuel, equals water in the tank, more so in cold weather)

Car will start good in the mornings or evenings but after

Well I would start by checking for fuel pressure. Check you manufacturers factory spec for fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure is even 5-10 psi low, it will be a problem. Check for spark when this is happening. Install a spark test between spark plug and wire. If bad or no spark, it may need an ignition module. They will act up when hot.
