Try tapping at the bottom of the door while operating the switch if this causes the motor to work then the motor is bad you can also try using one of the other switches that will fit the one your having a problem with if the window works then the switch is bad and needs to be changed if it does not then its the window motor.

I need the wiring schematics for driver door panel and all switches in a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. My window won't go down on that side and I'm sure I have a short somewhere because my switch works with all other...

You don't know what your getting into , The door switches have electronic control modules incorporated ,DDM- Driver door module an PDM passenger door module .
The power window system consists of the following components:
?€¢
Driver Door Module (DDM)

?€¢
Passenger Door Module (PDM)

?€¢
Body Control Module (BCM)

?€¢
RR power window switch

?€¢
Window up and window down relays in each of the rear passenger window switches

?€¢
Window lockout switch

?€¢
Reversible power window motors in each of the doors (circuit breaker protected)

?€¢
LT DOOR CB 25A (System power for left windows)

?€¢
RT DOOR CB 25A (System power for right windows)

The DDM contains four power window switches which are integral components. Closing any of the normally open, rocker type switches provides the DDM with a request for power window operation. The switches for the two front windows have three positions UP, Down and Express Down, while the switches for the rear windows have only two positions, UP and Down. Each of these switches and their positions is a direct input into the DDM. Upon receiving a request for power window operation, the DDM, transmits a Class 2 message indicating the switch and it's changed position.
The PDM contains a single power window switch that is an integral component. Closing of this normally open, rocker switch provides the PDM with a request for the front passenger power window operation. The switch for the front passenger window has two positions Up and Down. Each of these switch positions is a direct input to the PDM.
The two rear passenger doors have there own switches. Each of the switches contain a power window up and down relay. A switch activation alone can control the up and down functions of the rear windows. However the BCM, upon receiving a Class 2 message from the DDM, can control the set of relays which will activate the rear window motors.
You need a scan tool to diagnose these systems
Power Window Inoperative - Driver Door

1

Did you perform the Door Systems Diagnostic System Check?
Go to Step 2
Go to Diagnostic System Check - Door Systems

2

Operate the driver power window in the UP and DOWN directions.
Does the driver power window operate properly?
Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems
Go to Step 3

3

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Monitor the driver window status data parameter in the driver door inputs list.
Does the driver window status data parameter display an active state?
Go to Step 11
Go to Step 4

4

  1. Monitor the driver window status data parameter in the driver door module inputs list.
  2. Activate the driver power window switch in the up and down positions.
Does the driver window status data parameter change accordingly?
Go to Step 5
The data link connector (DLC) allows a scan tool to communicate with the class 2 serial data line. The serial data line is the means by which the microprocessor-controlled modules in the vehicle communicate with each other. Once the scan tool is connected to the class 2 serial data line through the DLC, the scan tool can be used to monitor each module for diagnostic purposes and to check for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Class 2 serial data is transmitted on a single wire at an average of 10.4 kbps.

Driver side window will go down; but not return up. all the other window controls work; just not the driver side button. can ireplace the button or the whole switch?

Thank you for using Fixya!

It could be the switch problem only. Try to unplug the swithc and provide power to the plug to see if you can operate the window properly. If it works both ways when you do that, you've got a bad switch. If you don't know how to remove the switch or how to apply current to the proper wires, don't try this procedure. You could hurt yourself or do further damage. Take it to a repair shop instead or seek help to a local mechanic.

All the best!

Murano 03 window control buttons not working

The driver's door switch...

Look at it... (poor thing)... is the most heavily used
and abused switch in the modern vehicles. EVERY
TIME the door is opened... rain, snow, coffee...
milkshakes, baby-pooh (et al: ad nausium)...

One of the more "popular" parts on eBay
(popular = high failure rate (in my opinion)).

Hello Monfar,

Most of the "new SWITCHES" I have seen appear
to be fully sealed... This one looks like it might be
serviceable... (click here for data & part numbers)

There are also 10 technical service bulletins on the
MURANO windows (interesting bot not relevant to
non-operation (okay... maybe one (TSB)).

Obviously there are other elements (motor, wires, etc.)
