Torque new cylinder head bolts in sequence to 44 ft lb. Loosen bolts approximately two turns, then torque bolts in sequence to 44 ft lb. Turn bolts an additional 90 degrees in sequence, then an additional 90 degrees

Click on the link, This generic spec according to bolt size and thread. A 1/4 inch bolt and up are ft lbs. I generally just tighten it up good. I realize good isn't a spec.
I did look in my database didn't see the torque spec for tensioner, itself.

Anyone know the torque specs and sequence for a 97 ford escort 2.0 for the cylinder head?


Hi.

The specs below are for the 2.0 L SOHC engine mounted on P VIN Ford Escort.

The bolts must be tightened 30-44 ft. lbs. follows the procedure.

  1. Tighten the bolts in sequence to 30-44 ft. lbs. (40-60 Nm).
  2. Back bolts off 1 / 2 turn.
  3. Retighten bolts to 30-44 ft. lbs. (40-60 Nm).
  4. Rotate all bolts in sequence by additional 180°, in two steps of 90°.

Need to know head bolt torque spec.


start with inner bolts and work your way out, torque to 150inch lbs. so one inner one, then go diagnal from that, then go diagnal so on and so forth.

Torque specs for cylinder head on a 200 ford focus with 2.0 ltr single overhead cam. and for connecting rod... Thank you much.


  1. CAUTION: Always install new cylinder head bolts. NOTE: Lubricate the cylinder head bolts with Super Premium 5W 30 SAE X0-5W 30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G prior to installation. Install the cylinder head assembly and tighten the cylinder head bolts in the following sequence.
  1. Tighten all bolts in a single sequence to 50 Nm
  2. Back the bolts off 1/2 turn.
  3. Tighten the bolts in sequence shown to 50 Nm .
  4. Rotate all the bolts in a single sequence an additional 180 degrees in two steps of 90 degrees each.

STEP # 1 30 - 44 FT.LBS
STEP # 2 ADDITIONAL 90deg
STEP # 3 ADDITIONAL 90deg

AFTER STEP # 1 LOOSEN BOLTS 1/2 TURN, THEN DO ALL 3 STEPS.

MAKE SURE YOU TIGHTEN IN SEQUENCE.

Head bolt torque spec


Always use new head bolts.
1)tighten to 40ft/lbs
2)back off 1/2 turn
3)tighten back to 40ft/lbs
4)tighten an additional 90 degrees
5)tighten an additional 90 degrees.

torque the bolts to 45 ft/lb then tighten each bolt 90 degrees and then 90 degrees again
