Question about 1999 GMC Sierra

I have a 96 gmc sonoma pickup 4cyl, 5 speed. Just this last week we had to pull the bed to replace the fuel pump. Now the brake lights wont work. Everything is plugged in and all signals work including the tag light. The brake lights wont work. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Well when the brake light's stop working it's because the stop light switch went bad it's right under the brake pedal.

Won't start


Check the fuel injectors, with the key on one side of the two wire connector will have battery voltage, if none is present then check the ECM fuses in the underhood fuel box.

the fuel pump is inside the fuel tank. some techs just lower the fuel tank down, others remove the bed. personaly dropping the tank is harder, but lifting off the bed requires about 4 strong people.

most likey the blower motor going out ,replace the blower resister also these work together and control ur speeds ,it may have got weak

What would cause a fuel pump to overheat


When the fuel pump is short circuit it will start going bad and thus gets hot. Replace witha brand new one. It will not cost much.

Fuel pump replacement


You will need to lift up the bed of the car to access to the tank and remove the fuel pump.You need to remove the fuel tankfirst, than undo the bed bolts on the left side and loosen the bolts on the right side almost completely, then unbolt the filler neck and access to fuel pump.
