It runs next to the high pressure hose from the pump to the reservoir. It's 3/4 inch hose, it's held on with clamps, unlike the high pressure hose that has compressed fittings. Your best bet is to remove the hose and match it up with a parts store.

I'M PRETY SURE I NEED TO REFILL THE GEAR OIL ON MY 1998 VW JETTA 2.0 LITER MANUAL TRANSMISSION BUT I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO I CANT FIND THE PLUG TO REFILL IT I WOULD SURE...

This is very difficult for a back yard mechanic to do as the fill hole is at the top of the transmission and there is no or little access for a guy with a can of oil and a funnel. Save yourself a ton of headache, take your car to any service station and have them top it off. They have a special fill pump that makes simple. This is not a problem for the dealer, any place that changes oil or greases cars will have the equipment.

Car stering wheel is hard to turn left or right

your power steering pump has a cap on it.you have cold mark and hot mark.when car is cold engine not running.when you remove power steering cap it should be on cold mark.if not add until you get to cold mark on cap stick..dont over fill or you blow the seal.now when engine is hot been running.turn off car check.power steering cap should read full hot.mean level is correct.when you first check power steering fluid and it was real real low.you got a leaking high pressure hose.or power steering pump seal is leaking.if all check out good.your problem could be low tire pressure.worn ball joints.and tie rod ends.rack and pinion steering gear binding.

2001 jetta Power steering fluid leak

A power steering system has a rack, fluid tank with hose to pump, pump, high pressure in hose and a low pressure return hose to tank. I f you say theres no leak at the rack that only leaves those other conponents. I would check the pump its self and the high pressure hose where it leaves the pump. It may also be leaking at the tank, where the hose leaves to the pump because it is only fastend down with clips and they can come loose or the hose can split. hope this helps

It is really hard to make turns. check power stering fluid ok

check power steering fluid if real real low you have a leak at hoses or pump seals.if all is good check for low tires and lack of lubrication to at ball joints and tie rod ends. if all is good you have power steering pump failure.
