The crank sensor in a 2004 CLK320 is located in the back of the engine. If u go to the web link below u will find the best discription of the replacement of the Crankshaft Position sensor I have seen, it says for 2000 model, (older articel) but it is the same for your 2004 I assure u.

I just want to add that your CLK uses the M112 engine, so don't pay attention to the model and year difference, the article applies to your car as well.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My 2000 clk 320 wont start it cranks but wont fire, The fuel pump is not coming on the relay is good. the cps is putting out a little over 1vac. I checked the voltage at the cpu connector e pin 37 &...

The only thing that will shut the fuel and the spark - is crank position sensor. And they do go bad on MB.
If you have scaner which can read data from the engine , you can monitor the rpm while you crank the engine , if you see 0 rpm while cranking , CP sensor caput.

Mercedes clk 320 will not start

i have a 2000 clk320. it would not start sometimes, the engine would crank but it wont start. but after an hour or so it would start. sometime i'll get somewhere park, and come out an hour later and the engine would not start. if your having the same problem, take it to autoparts store ex: autozone or kragen. they could check your battery for free. and if its not the battery. than it could either be your fuel pump. or the crank position sensor. good luck. hopefully this help.
